I would have predicted the opposite based solely on the console exclusive vs. multiplatform factor.

Have played for about an hour or so and it really is great.

I tried to jump on multiplayer 5 or 6 times and although I could see other players in the waiting room I was immediately booted from every game that started up. I really hope this isn't going to be a constant issue.

PS3 or 360? 360 mp worked pretty well.

LOVE the single player, not so sure about the multiplayer. But MP isnt the reason I bought it.

This might actually be the first GTA I'll ever finish.

I quit on hte last one I played because the end boss was to hard. I used god mode for the first tiem in the game and won it and basicalyl said the end sucked.

Well, my "figuring" was based on the line at 11pm when I got there. I had expected a line around the building a mere hour before midnight, but I guess since it was cold, about 75% of the people there didn't show up until 11:45pm or later.

Anybody get the feeling that Gamespot gave GTA4 a review score of 10 only because IGN did? Their written review really doesn't sound like a 10, and I think they are just trying to keep up with the "joneses".

I'm currently seeing about taking a half-day today, because I really want to go home and play some more without the wife at home :). Couple that with the >5 hours of sleep I got last night, and I'm sitting here wishing I had just went ahead and taken the day off.

I was considering that too, but I got pulled into a meeting at 4pm today, which means my plan of skating out a little early is now shot.

I am leaving early because of the SO, I want to get in as much game time as possible. Lucky me she is going out of town for a three day weekend leaving me home alone......

This is driving me nuts. I saw about 9 people on XBL last night playing the game and last night was tough to sleep through.

I'm working a half-day today so only a few more hours. Cannot wait!

I have a feeling I'm going to have to stay late tonight. Dag nabbit!

I WILL be playing GTA IV tonight, though. No matter how late it is.

Wow, some really motivated people here. I used to be that excited about games back when I was in school. I remember staring at the clock thinking about nothing more than playing whatever game I was at the time. But lately I just haven't been that into it. Which is odd since I've spent the most money I ever have lately on gaming (new PC, Wii, PS3). I have GTA4 on it's way from Amazon, and it might even come today, but I'm not losing sleep over it. I get off at 2pm and then I'm going to go get a haircut. It might be waiting when I get home, but maybe not. And I'm ok with that. Frankly I kind of miss the days when I was uber excited. Man I sound old at 25 :)

Asked the wife if I could get the game...I essentially got the "no way in hell" look.

Yes, it was a 9.5 when first posted and they switched it to a 10. There is a screenshot of the 9.5 on the CAG forums. It didn't read like a 10 to me either.

So did you not get it last night? I know we exchanged messages, and when I was getting ready to go to bed at around 1:30 this morning, I saw you were playing Crackdown. :) I guess now that I think about it, you're on the west coast, aren't you?

As far as taking a half-day today, it's been requested and approved, so I'm leaving at noon today. Will play for a couple of hours, run into town to do some errands, then come back home and play again for a decent portion of the night.

Always better to ask for forgiveness than for permission!

I'm debating on whether to ask them if they have any extra special editions of the game.... trying to decide if I want to spend $30 more

Yea, I'm in California and am picking up my copies in a few hours. I just didnt feel like going to a midnight release.

I recently began playing Crackdown again in anticipation for some coop, but the guy I was suppose to kick it with last night had something come up. Anyway, I deleted my save file so that I could start all over again and build my guy up. :)

After seeing the boxes last night from people getting it, I'd say that at a simple glance, it doesn't look like it's anywhere worth an extra $30. Seriously, the box that everything comes in (the game, a duffel bag, and lock box) isn't much bigger than a regular game box. I was amazed at how small the package was. The lock box really can't be any bigger than a 10"x8"x3", and I'm assuming the duffel bag can't be that large as well if they managed to shove it inside a box that small. At the very least, if they have any extra, take a look at the box. I'm guessing you'll decide to save your $30.
