Haha...

I'm amazed you were able to get it. How many copies is more than you've ever seen? I think the most I've ever seen is 4 or 5, but I usually don't even try for new releases anymore.

GTA IV took up two rows with 2-4 copies behind each display case.

I was thinking maybe Fry's would have something...do they?

Frys.com had it for $49.99 as a pre-order. I just checked out the Fry's Ad Site and nothing is mentioned regarding GTA IV.

Any chance there's some sort of minor content filter?

I know it probably "takes away from the game" but if it's the difference between being able to play and not being able to I'd take it!

Anyone??

A quick Google search doesn't reveal anything...so, I'd say no.

Played an hour last night.. learning the controls and what not. Damn awesome of a game. Only thing that irks me is how the brakes on any of the cars I've driven so far absolutely suck.

Adds to the mayhem. Why use brakes when you can use a person as a brake?

I remember these complaints when GTA:SA came out. You people realize that the crappiest cars are usually at the beginning of the game, right? Not every single car is crappy at the beginning I'm sure, but the majority probably are?

rofl, losers selling copies of GTA:4 on ebay for almost $400. This happens with every release, I remember seeing people trying to sell Halo 3 Legendary for $5,000+ the day it was released saying "almost sold out, your once chance!" etc etc. Now I see 'em in store for $70.

I really hope no one is buying those copies, but you know someone is. I just don't understand people who are willing to pay outrageous prices for things that are readily available.

Doesn't look like it. The seller set it up as a fixed price, not an auction, for 5 copies of the special edition. No purchases yet with just under 10 hours to go.

A-la PS3. Not that they were "readily available" but so many scalpers bought them you could get them on day 2 for under cost. Friend of mine and had a chance to sell it for $900 on day one but didn't think $300 was worth the 32 hours she spent in Wal-Mart so she had a friend outbid and win it. I think she finally sold it a month or so later for like $500.

You get access to a ridiculous amount of cars from the very beginning including some very fast modern ones (although definitely not the fastest). The first few missions are ran with your cousin's beater car though

I love it when scalpers get burned, but in most cases I think they just return it to the retailer if they can't make a profit on it. Then the retailer gets stuck with the carrying cost of the excess inventory. That's what bothers me about this whole scalping phenomenon. The retailers assume substantial risk by establishing a B&M store, and they're stuck selling stuff for MSRP or less. Scalpers assume little or no risk, and then spout off about capitalism as if they're the next John Rockefeller.

GTA IV is really pointing out the flaws in my DLP. Even with the brightness all the way up (in game), the dark scenes are nearly impossible to see. Driving at night sucks :(

Looks like the PS3 is slightly better looking overall. I wonder how the PS3 fares with framerates as the xbox does have slightly slow downs now and then and sometimes major slowdowns even, but not more than 2-3 seconds. Either way I'll be picking up the game again for the PC :D

I'm not suffering too bad on an LCD, but my room is brightly lit during the daytime so it is a bit hard too see when you're driving around at night.

I don't suppose you forgot to turn the headlights on? On the 360 you would hold the X button to turn them on and switch between high and low beams. On the PS3 I think that would translate to the square button.
