After a few laps with each car (fewest laps with the Mini, Ferrari, and Audi) my times are:

Mini: 1:16.574
Evo: 1:12.645
Ferrari: 1:10.152
Audi: 1:07.553
Porsche: 1:01.068

ABS and TCS on, no-clutch manual.

Yes, I admit it...it did extra Evo laps trying to best your time!! :p I actually beat it early on but for some weird reason I got the "!" (offroad or rewind?) so I kept trying for the clean lap.

The Evo is geared almost perfectly for the track. 4th gear the entire time except for 3rd for the two hairpins and 5th for a few seconds heading towards hairpin 1.

Oh, and OSJ should be making an "Official Forza 3 Night" thread soon and included will be a demo hotlap challenge of some sort.

I just made it out of the hospital after a week and I'm hoping I can get some help moving everything into my room so I can play some laps tonight. Is it multiplayer enabled?

i'm excited by this demo. the cockpit view isn't perfect, i wish it was more like shift, or TDU, or PGR...just about anything. but the driving is great and i love the new clutch system, even just with a controller.

No multiplayer but the leaderboards are up. You can only view them in-game though.

What were you in the hospital for?

sorry to hear that quik, but right in time for demo.

it seems to me that the car's got a lot more grip in this game. and there's a bit of understeer in the lancer...

Ok buddy... 1:11.975 (767 / 93040).

Your move ;)

Haven't used the Evo since I posted my time...I'll give it a whirl when I've got a chance (might not be until next week, we've got company coming in this weekend). What time I did have last night I spent chasing down Famous'(ivan) Porsche RSR time. He's .069 sec faster than me.

If anyone on my friend's list reads this and is sitting at home, let me know what my current Porsche time is...and my Ferrari time.

Are you guys putting up the good times using the wheel or controller? I find it much easier to use the controller than the wheel, even with all assists off. I just don't understand it. I hate having this $100 chunk of plastic sitting in front of me as I use the controller to play the game.

In FM2 I found the controller MUCH easier than the wheel, although other people (some of the fastest guys I know) use the wheel. I hear in FM3 the wheel works much better, I need to give mine a try, I just hate sitting it in my lap.

I ran a few laps with all the cars last night using the controller, which is what I use in F2. I never bought it because of the price and I have no idea if I'll even like using it.

Game is awesome. It is smooth as butter and the cars have weight. Really liked the Ferrari California.

So yeah, would anyone like to explain how to drive manually using clutch? I am no gearhead, however, I really enjoy racing games and so far I haven't played one that was as realistic as Forza 3. I'm definitely getting this game when it comes out...

I am using the controller and somehow the clutch isn't really a clutch but it's just a button right now. basically you press it down and then shift and then release it. I think it works better if you are trying to drift and you disengage, rev it up and then engage the clutch to break loose the rear wheel.

still practicing the lancer and am a good second behind you jbourne. i keep thinking that if I can put more power down to the rear wheel the car will be faster, but i guess it's just me clipping the wrong apexes. we will see tonight!!
