Damn, maxing out 1 weapon costs 1,5 mil.
That's too much. I have 3 Traps now through dismantling, but only 30k money left :D

It becomes boring just farming that stupid Adams for 5 hrs or so.

Pure madness :hmm:

what i remember is you have to basically just attack him when he is in the air. He doesnt hit as hard and this is the time to go out. i used lightning/fang/hope. When he is in the air id use rav/com/rav ot build stagger. Its nice to have like Rav/Com/Med to so you can heal up a bit if needed too. The big thing is with 5-10 seconds left on stagger switch to med/sen/med. He always uses that missile attack after a stagger so be ready. You want ot stay topped off for if he does his big hitting thing. So i found myself using Com (or you could Rav) sen/med quite often during this phase and just go combat medic when the onscreen ability shows up for his big attack. Also in this phase is the time ot buff/debuff so it snice to have med/sab/syn or med/sen/syn. Just buff up and keep topped up during his ground phase is the big thing. Once he goes into the air its all about staggering and damaging him.

it'll take a bit and isnt the quickest but it worked for me and i didnt have nay trouble with him. (well bar the first time till i figured out what to do)

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but you might need to go back and grind more. My friend had his characters maxed out (as far as they could go at the time), and that whole section of the game was really pretty easy for him. Maxing them out doesn't take too long.

yeah, but im going to have to backtrack quite a bit. the enemies around here are too hard and not enough CP. wish they'd let u use ragnarok to go back and forth between locations

I finally beat FF-XIII this after noon. Now I am just running around on Pulse collecting 5 stars on all of the marks.

Overall I really like the game. The story was a little weak but at least it was better than FF-XII. I so wanted to kill Hope for being a whiny kid in the beginning. I still think I had more fun with FF-X. There seemed to be more things to do and had more plot twists.

This one we ran on rails until Grand Pulse where you could run around and grind and then back on the rails to the end.

im wondering if i should start upgrading my weapons yet; im in gran pulse, running around and doing the missions. also, any tips on where to best grind for max efficiency in increasing my cps? i didn't know where that cave was that the other dude was mentioning. i found a cave, but i took a path and was only getting around 15k, not the 30k that he mentioned. i dont think im strong enough yet to fight the king behemoths on their own. when they regenerate their health, i get rocked.

A great farming spot is the preemptive King Behemoth fight on the way to the Caves.. kill the Behemoth first then work on the other thing. 6k+ CP a fight (13k+ with egg). Also the route inside the cave.. Make the first left, go all the way in until you get to the Juggernaut cutscene, retry, and head back. Probably 25k a trip.

I'm maxing out my characters now while fighting Adamantoises.. 0/60+ on traps :( Atleast I get 80k CP per kill..

Okay, so you all played through this game already. Is it as bad as it seemed initially? How does it rank among past FF games?

I think it's underrated. It feels like a lot of the reviews are people hating it just to hate it (ex: Destructoid's review was absolutely retarded). It's not my favorite FF game, but I've enjoyed playing it quite a bit. Well worth the $60, IMO.

This game has officially made me stop playing video games.

I used to knock out a couple thousand gamer points a month but 36 hours into FF13 and it has taken all the fun out of games.

7 > 10 > 6, 8, 9 > 13 > The rest.

For me 7, 10, 8, and 9 all had other things to do while moving the story along. You could raise Chocobos, play card games, or blitz. The older PS games seem bigger wit more places to run around.

At one point I had invested so much time into it, I wanted to finish. At 36 hours just couldn't take it anymore and quit.

I was able to do it before finishing the last boss fight.. but right now I'm farming after the end of the storyline at Leviathan Plaza in Eden. All you gotta do is spam Death with Vanille. :) SAB/SAB/SAB > Summon > Get the summon out > Adamantoise's legs disabled.. and spam Death. If it fails, retry.. or reload if you get no drop.

heh. i felt the same way. i lost interest after chapter 7 but kept going and finally beat it today. final opinion: love the battle system; hate some of the battles, esp. the last boss. chapter 11,12,13 made me want to rip my hair out....its done and i can move on with life.

You can actually technically fight them (and win) as soon as vanille gets the Death ability. A lot of people farm by doing sab/sab/syn. Enter battle and immediately summon (control vanille btw). Your summon kills the legs so the adamnantoise wont attack anymore, quickly press square then triangle to get rid of your summon. Then start spamming Death over and over with vanille. You either get it to work or he stands up and kills you in which case you retry. Its probably a 50-60% success rate for me but at 40k a pop with a 1-2 minute battle its quick.

Like I said earlier, that means you weren't strong enough. There are bosses in all FF games in which you need to grind to beat and progress through the game. You can't blame an RPG on something like a bit of required grinding.

Just so you know, if your characters have the currently available stats/main paradigms mostly maxed out (which is really easy) by the end of the game, those last few fights are stupid easy.

So for the missions in Gran Pulse (just got there), I'm getting my ass handed to me on mission 4; the mobs keep summoning this bad ass wolf looking guy, who quickly kills me.

Are the missions meant to be played right when I get to gran pulse? Or is it wise to skip past them and move on and eventually come back? I dont think I've skipped a fight the entire game, so I feel like I'm at least decently leveled up to this point.
