It isnt cheating unless you get caught (dunno if he got caught or not), and even then the IRS has to prove its case.

Ah, but CantedValve, I voted for the Republican for Congress. Since my Democratic incumbent is a war mongering piece of crap I figured I'd go for the real thing instead of a fake wannabe.

And hopefully put a permanent end to the estate tax. And the best way to decrease the defecits is to increase our economy.

Kerry wins in MA (no suprise here).
Republican gov in MA (remember though that in MA, Dems are Dems and Republicans are Dems)
Ballot props.
Repeal of state income tax fails (good- MA services are dying)
Public funding of elections fails(bad- its like Tammany here. This might have ended the one horse races we have)
Bilingual education fails, replaced by intensive english immersion programs. (I am on the fence on this one. Good and bad points to both)

Republicans now control the government of the United States.

When good men are in power, the people rejoice.

Thank God!

The move towards the center of the Political spectrum is what enabled the Republicans to win the Senate back. Dole in North Carolina and Coleman in Minnesota are two prime examples of that.

One thing for certain, if the economy continues to falter the next two years Bush won't be able to blame the Democrats for it. If the economy recovers and the upcoming war against Iraq goes well he'll easily win the next presidential election. On the other hand, if it doesn't then he'll get his ass handed to him just like Jimmy Carter did when he faced Ronald Reagan on 1980.

Some good points. I think the 2004 election will be very one sided, either the Reps stay for doing a good job, or the people vote to clean house.

We Republicans knew this was a fight for the survival of the United States. Preemptive defense action is a must at this time. Good men will go forward now with minimal interference for those that hate a strong America. (read Democrats)

The other prize that is perhaps of greater importance, our ability to pack the Judiciary with honorable Men.

I thank God that honorable people went to the polls in sufficient number to overcome evil Democrats.

Well one thing I can agree with you on, CantedValve, is that it better to say something stupid than be made to look stupid. :D

If so, you should have all voted Libertarian.

Translation:
honorable = Bible-thumping, close-minded, White fundies
evil = non-Christians, atheists, minorities, gays, women

PalTroll and other Bible Thumping Humps like him are as much of an embarrassment to the Republicans as Jesse Jackson is to the Democrats. In fact PalTroll and his like actually have more in common with the "Reverend" Jackson than they do with the typical Republican. They both are members of the Hysterical Lunatic Fringe of their respective parties. They are like the crazy Uncle who is kept locked up in the Attic because when they are let loose they tend to run amok embarrassing the family. The main difference is that the Republicans now can ignore their Crazy Uncle while the Democrats can't because their Crazy Uncle has the keys to unlock the door of the attic.

Well, it's not just that. Oregon's minimum wage would go up according to the cost of living in major cities. That's how it's worded. Not Oregon's major cities, just "major cities." That means Oregon's minimum wage will go up because of a raise in the cost of living in Los Angeles or New York. Or Denver. Or Seattle. Or Boston. Or Tampa. Or Atlanta.

Get it?

Stupid Oregonians that don't read. Besides, I wouldn't vote for a minimum wage anyway. That makes employers raise the price of their goods to compensate for the higher wages. Which, in turn, makes you pay more. And, unless I'm making minimum wage, all it does is raise the cost of living for ME. :|

exactly, same goes for corporate income tax. i just wish that more people realize that the more money that corporations/businesses have to pay out, the more they have to charge. it all comes back to us, the consumer.
