The 1.7% of people who have a machine powerful to run it smoothly are dancing in the streets. The rest of us who have the brains to refuse to upgrade just to be able to boot a game that could turn out to be the next Daikatana shrug our shoulders in apathy. I'll pick it up a year from now for $1.99 when this machine gets upgraded.

what are the specs needed to play it?
Cray Supercomputer with BitBoys video card 😛

I don't think the 1st generation Bitboys card will do...I think we'll have to wait till generation 2. It's release will probably coincide with the release of DNF (actually...the release of the 1st generation card will probably coincide with that release).

Did those guys ever release anything more than press releases and spec sheets? I mean, the company had to have been doing something right?
They're currently working on their "Acceleon" line of embedded chips for handheld devices. Their only licensee that I can remember is NEC. They are considerably further ahead then the vapourware desktop products they couldn't finish.

While people piss and moan about upgrading to play one game, I'll be busy playing Doom3, Far Cry, HL2 (eventually), and any other game that requires a decent system. I didn't build a new machine for Doom3. I built a new machine to play latest generation games, and I rather doubt I will have to upgrade again until Christmas 2005 at the earliest.

I'm quite sure ID will move at least a million units for the PC alone, despite the high system requirements. Feel free to cross your arms and pout to your heart's content. This game will be a money maker.

Jeez, someone is bitter LOL!

Well, I finally got an excuse to build a new rig. Can't wait for this game, and games which spawn off it's engine

So no one knows whether this is on CD or DVD? I sure dont want more than 2 discs.

I'm sure there will be a DVD. Never doubt Teh Carmack!

I just hope it won't be like FarCry where the DVD version comes out in the UK and not the US.... :brokenheart:
