You know, I thought about ignoring your post, honest. But, you're wrong on so many levels, I just had to interject.

I'm a realist and a cynic. I see a bunch of 13 year olds who need mommy to buy their games for them creaming their Spiderman Underoos over a game that might be good and might suck. [/quote]
I'm 30 years old, I have a great car, make great money, and will be getting married to the women of my dreams next year. Your sterotype is SO far off base, it makes me wonder what year we're really living in....or rather, what year you're living in. This game has been in the making for over 4 years and we can't get excited about it Mr Oh-all-things-must-suck.
I see a game with insane system requirements and will likely need something far beyond those requirements to run smoothly.
Maybe before you pass judgement so quickly, you should do some research. The newest issue of PC Gamer has a review of the game. They gave it a 94% and it list a few testbeds they ran the game on.
Keep in mind the issue has an entire article dedicated to system requirements questions.
PC Gamer recommends:
2Ghz CPU
512 MB ram
Radeon 9800
5-channel audio
Lowest supported GPU is a Geforce 4 MX (worse than Geforce 3)
Supported cards:
GF 4 MX
GF 3
GF 4
GF FX (and higher)
ATI 8500s, 9000s and higher
The only thing it says is that one test system had a GF 6800 (!) and it ran "flawlessly at 1024x768".
Do those recommended requirments look like "INSANE"? No. Do you kow how many computers out there have 512MB RAM? The video card might be the biggest hurdle, but come next year 9700/9800 cards will be a dime a dozen. Now, are the requirments a little steep, sure. But its also a game that pushed the graphical envelope.
I see yet another FPS is a field already overcrowded and stagnant. I see a game that will be forgotten by the same 13 year olds as soon as Half-Life 2 comes out. I see too many people who lack a life and get excited over a video game.
LOL! I love this one. Ok, id never came out and decided to do an innovative game. They set out to do a SCAREY game. They want to scare the living crap out of you! They never said that they were going to revolutionize the genre (like they've done in the past). Wake up, dude! HL2 and D3 are completely different games that just happen to be in the same genre. HL2 will deffinitly be more of a "thinking" game, but Valve also set forth with different goals when they began developing it.
So, why dont you just do yourself a favor and not buy the damn game.
We all in here could hardly care less about you or the sh!t you have to say.
