Sitting here staring at the Newegg checkout page for the last two hours. Asking myself, "Should, I? Should, I? Should, I?"

Yes. These cards actualy deliver almost twice the performance in many games. But I would get the 2600 Mobile Barton and go 200x11 on it =) . Its cheaper. Well, thats if you have a mobo/ram combo to support 200 Front side bus. Even so, you can likely just up the multiplyer.

It is not YOUR cost ID is worried about.

The online retailer I had pre-ordered Doom3 with has just updated their website. All of a sudden the DVD versions have gone completely. :( Looks like it CD's in the UK too. :(

Yeah. I am glad I didn't do it yet. Started researching CPUs. Any advantage the 2600+M over the 2500+M?

I'm 30 years old, I have a great car, make great money, and will be getting married to the women of my dreams next year. Your sterotype is SO far off base, it makes me wonder what year we're really living in....or rather, what year you're living in. This game has been in the making for over 4 years and we can't get excited about it Mr Oh-all-things-must-suck.

ROFL. Skippy, if she's really the woman of your dreams you wouldn't have had the time to post 3400+ times in 6 months and you damn well would not be so excited about a video game nor would you be so versed in every spec. It's likely the woman "in your dreams". Seriously, a job, a car, a fiance (and I notice you list the car above the fiance) and you have the time for 20 posts a day and an unhealthy video game fetish. Thanks, your little imaginary reality has amused me.

Dude, all you have to do is look at his PICS in his SIG.
Not everybody who's a regular in this forum is a loser who can't get girls and sit at home all day.
Looks like a normal guy to me.
Maybe his work is in computer and he sits infront of one 8hrs a day and have time to post.

Thanks CTrain.

ROFL. Hey Gaghalfrunt (WTF kind of nick is that, anyways). Just so you know, I'm a Network Technician. I working in the IT industry (10 hour days for one of the biggest corporations in the world), so you've picked the wrong fight. Oh, and about my fiancee.

Why don't you go here. (2nd post down)

GagHalfrunt, I'll gladly build a new PC to play Doom 3 in all it's glory. So will a lot of the rest of us ATOTers who are mature, regular people with some disposable income. Some people are interested in cars, they work on their cars all the time, some people are interested in video games. Hobbies are party of a healthy adult lifestyle. Don't get all pissy just because your mommy and daddy won't buy you a new PC for Doom 3.

EDIT: And one more thing!

All this hyping and their website for the damn game has been "full experience coming soon" for 9 months straight.

I agree screw them, I'm not cheering until it's in my hands :).

Not much, just people say the 2600 overclocks better. And its 200 x 10. Sorry lol.

I am glad the offical site is finally up so we can look at the same 16 screenshots we have seen for the past three years :)

The doom 3 site is very cool. I checked out the trailer and theme song. I like quake 3 intro movie and theme song better though.

Did any of you try the movie which was shown on TechTV. It's worth a look. :)

[edit]

There are a number of mirrors knocking about and they can be found here in this thread.

The rest of us who have the brains to refuse to upgrade just to be able to boot a game that could turn out to be the next Daikatana shrug our shoulders in apathy. I'll pick it up a year from now for $1.99 when this machine gets upgraded.

Are you a glass half full kind of person or a glass half empty kind of person?

A pessimist sees the glass half empty, an optimist sees the glass half full. A realist sees the same amount of liquid either way and a cynic sees another glass that needs to be washed.

I'm a realist and a cynic. I see a bunch of 13 year olds who need mommy to buy their games for them creaming their Spiderman Underoos over a game that might be good and might suck. I see a game with insane system requirements and will likely need something far beyond those requirements to run smoothly. I see yet another FPS is a field already overcrowded and stagnant. I see a game that will be forgotten by the same 13 year olds as soon as Half-Life 2 comes out. I see too many people who lack a life and get excited over a video game.

Anything I see that isn't true?

Get over yourself dude. Stop trying to crap in other people's enjoyment just because you've given up on enjoying life.

HomeLan has more interviews up-

"Currently, the story in the board game follows a small squad of marines right after the demons have broken through into the UAC Mars base. There are 5 scenarios that come with the game that basically tell the story of the squad as they try to make their way through the thick of the demons to a shuttle bay on the other side of the base to try and escape."

Other Stuff

emphasis added ;)

Man, nevermind the Xbox, even the damn board game gets co-op. :frown:

My guess is there wont be much in the way of NPC's, just the occasional helper here and there.
