The game is so-so. The SP game is short, as already mentioned. The graphics look pretty good. I like the blur effect when you zoom with your gun's sight. The "Death from Above" level totally caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting that type of gameplay. It was a treat. The AI seems pretty good and I played through the game on "Regular" difficulty the first time. I'm going to run through the game on "Hardened" next weekend. The maps felt really good until the last few levels. In the beginning, the game felt very open. At the end, it was the typical, 'run, stop, kill all, repeat'. Especially in the missile silo tunnels.
The MP side of the game is slightly disappointing. Basically a "run and gun" game. Boring. The maps are way too small. There is no feeling of an open, free world. Also, the graphics for the MP part of the game aren't as detailed as the SP portion. I guess it was done for faster load times, but it's not as nice looking as the SP game. I've never played a CoD game before, but I don't really care for the Perks. They should offer more Perks than just 2 or three per class. I dislike starting off with weak weapons with no upgrades available. I don't want to play the game every day for 4 hours a day in order to unlock better weapons and gear.
Sorry, but some of the best weapons are the starters - granted, there's good ones down the line, but the first ones are pretty damn good. And you don't have to play 4 hours a day, I typically play 2-3 a day when the fiancee goes to sleep, and I'm already lvl 40.
Honestly though, your loss ... run and gun has always been the CoD franchise, and not sure what maps you're talking about - but they're decently sized for the amount of people.
And the Death from Above mission is so freakin cool ...
