I've only played Free For All (48 wins). Is a win in Deathmatch = A win in Free For All, because it's much harder to win a free for all game than a team deathmatch.

anyone in a COD4 (360) clan? Me and a friend are looking to join one. Looking for adult only, good players, and not interested in matches.

the only game i can/will play is hardcore. If you play hardcore for a while, you will not go back to 'regular'.

All the people who are frustrated by "3 shots to the head = no kill", should be playing hardcore. It is honestly a completely different game, and IMO, 100x better than standard play.

is there a way to check out your connection before beginning a match? I was up to .40 percent wins in free for all but I kept getting bad connections like 1 red bar or 2 bars. It was so bad but if I quit the game it counts as a loss.

Anyone have a strategy for "one shot one kill"? Im trying to beat it on veteran but I keep dying everytime. This is the one where you're waiting behind the ferris wheel and waiting for the chopper to pick u and the other sniper up. I basically dont know where to start out.

For the first set of guys (who come from the pool area), setup the claymores at the three entry points, let your buddy watch the left as you snipe down the center and right sides from the ferris wheel area.

For the second set of guys (who get dropped from the choppers, and also come from behind the pool area), I would pick up the shotgun by the empty bathtub near the right side helicopter drop point, and have an AK47 as your primary weapon. Lay C4 at the helicopter drop points, detonate after all three helicopters have dropped their troops, then start shooting guys on the center and right sides from the area between the ferris wheel and bumper cars. The soldiers will actually funnel into the areas around the ticket booth as they charge you, making them easy to shoot. Eventually the soldiers will overwhelm you, and start coming past your buddy on the left side; this is when you fall back to the area on the far right behind the bumper cars. Basically, the bumper cars area will act as a shield while you strafe back and forth, and the soldiers will come a few at a time around and over the top of the bumper cars, making them more manageable.

Once the rescue chopper lands, your rescue troops will distract most of the soldiers allowing you to run and pick up your wounded buddy. But there will be a stray soldier or two that needs to be dealt with, so it's not over until you're actually on the chopper.

I just finished the single player. There were a couple of cool parts, such as the All Gillied Up, and shooting from the plane as others have mentioned. But there were a lot of really annoying parts. I just can't stand the parts in COD games where it just sends endless waves of enemies at you, where they basically just run into your bullets. I wish they would make it so there are fewer enemies (that don't infinitely respawn) and smarter so you can have more interesting firefights. The part where you have to push down through the hill to escape on the helicopter was one of the most annoying things I've ever experienced. A lot times I found myself just wanting to play R6V.

I found that if you're continously moving forward you avoid the endless waves of enemies.

Last night on the TV show "Chuck" on NBC, one of the characters (Morgan if you watch it) was playing COD4. It showed him killing someone through a wall on the "Pipeline" map and he said he loved the Deep Impact perk. It was funny, his female co-worker was sitting there watching and said "you really owned that noob!"

I'm bored at work and I thought it was funny so I thought I'd post it :p On Chuck they have also showed them playing Gears and Halo 3.

Yeah you can reset it to 1 and then you get some icon each time you do it. It resets all your challenges and locks all your guns and stuff. There really is no need to do it but I dunno, it is fun completing the challenges....might as well do them again.,

I'm a bit behind the curve and finally picked this up today. Got to the end of the TV station level, and it's pretty good so far. I never played much of the other CoD games because I tired of WW2 shooters very, very quickly, but I like this one pretty well. The graphics are fantastic, sound is good, and control feels good. I hate the voice-overs, though. They talk so calmly over the radio during huge firefights with light streaks for bullets flying everywhere....kinda takes you out of it somewhat when some is supposedly pinned down and they tell you to move sniper positions like you were in a briefing room back on base.

I did play a few games of the multiplayer beta, and it was pretty fun, so I'm looking forward to hopping into a few matches this weekend.

Yeah the single player is good but the game really shines when you start playing multiplayer :) It's a lot of fun. Almost to the point of resetting my rank for the 2nd time :p

Ya, but you put in a LOT more time than I do in multiplayer. You are always on seems like :). I always want to play, but either the wife is hogging the TV or I get lazy.

I'm the type of guy who sits at work all day salivating at wanting to go home and play some online Halo or something, but when I get home, I sit on the computer and lay around and don't do anything :D.

Alright, how in the hell do you melee the dogs? I'm at a point right now to where dogs attack me where the checkpoint is. I want the achievement, so before I get past this point, I'd like to survive a dog attack and get it out of the way. I understand that you have to press the right analog stick before it bites to grab it's neck, but I cannot seem to get it done. I've pressed it when the icon comes up on the screen, I've pressed it and held it down, I've clicked the hell out of it during the attack....everything. What exactly am I supposed to do here?

are you sure you are pressing the RIGHT analog stick? :p don't wait for the icon, I was pushing it at soon as the dog jumped on me. There at one point I was pushing the left analog stick for some unknown reason and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Once I got that straightened out I had no problems at all.

I need to go back to the single player. I'm trying to beat it on veteran. I'm stuck at the last part of the sniper mission at the ferris wheel. I can't seem to beat it. i've got a new strategy to try but I haven't had time yet.

Once I'm done with exams tomorrow (as in tomorrow night from 7-9PM, yes, on a Friday) I will try to pickup COD4 and school you in yet another game Chris. ;)

I doing the SP on veteran also and I can't get past this either. Can't get to the extraction point. There are about a hundred guys and more being dropped in from heli. There is no place to hide and snipe either.
