yep, pretty much have to do first and last name if you want a specific first name.

well my account was "hacked" last night. got an email that says someone changed my email address and now i can't log in.

Yeah, I am thinking of changing my email/password used for my account. Too many people are trying to hack accounts in this game. I am thinking of setting up new email account just for this game that nothing else uses...

No, you can only be on 1 server at a time.

However, the only thing that you can't do with people from 1 server while on a different one is pvp/WvWvW with them.

Everything else you can do together, even guild from a different server.

Cripes..... I seriously gotta stop doing this LOL.
I guess this is good cause I have two level 11 or 12 toons. And I was like "This is a challenge?".

The levels though are coming MUCH slower now. I feel GRIND to 15 coming on.

it does start to pick up after 15, but depending on what class you are playing it varys, the warrior plays MUCH faster then an elem for example.

anyone know how the bonus XP you get from killing mobs works? i ask because every firefly and ostrich looking mob i killed yesterday was giving between 16 and 34 bonus XP and i have no idea why. and it didnt stop, i killed hundreds of them.

also how are people playing Elems at lower levels, mine is 24 and its painfull to play compaired to the warrior who just smashes things. it seems if i pull more than 2 mobs im doomed, even 1-2 mob pulls generally result in near death. damage output just seems very low and it takes forever to kill mobs. even cycling through most elements it seems to take an absurd amount of running around to avoid getting killed

Bonus Xp is a mystery.

Don't focus on 1 element, rotate through them at a pace/rotation you find useful.

I found I can kill 3-5 at a time now with the right mix of spells from my elements now (of equal or 1 level less)

(With Scepter - Dagger) If I have 3-5 on me I use Fire for #2 Spire and #4 Dragon, switch immediatly to earth and press #4 for shockwave, then combo that with my Signet or Air to blind them all, and Charge #5 (Earth spike AoE around me). When 5 is done I "roll-out" turn to water, use any healing I need and finish them off with water aoe attacks, or Air single target attacks/knockbacks/blinds.

And yes to the previous poster, things do get harder once you are out of the lv 1-15 area, especially dungeons and huge events.

I have a 47.5 Elementalist, 6 Guardian, and a 3 Ranger.

Bonus XP has something to with the last time someone has killed that mob I think. It's in there to encourge exploring. I've gotten some crazy bonus XP killing stuff way out of the way of POIs, Hearts, etc.

Anyways, how do you do underwater combat?? My damage from the spells has not changed since level 1 and i'm level 60 now. I got a level 58 trident. Am i missing something here for damage underwater? I mean i literally hit mobs for 30damage underwater. lol

I will upload a screenshot of my Asura Elementalist when I get home. Only level 47 though.

Daily I change the dye on my armor though lol.

Best part about being sick/busy that each day I only have played for like an hour or so, but gained mass xp because of the dailies resetting each time I log on .

Depends what interests you as a single player tbh.

A lot of the stuff you do, you can do without grouping (however people will be there doing it also putting you in a "technical" group).

Dungeons and organized PvP you need a group, otherwise all events, quests, farming and storytelling can be single player.

How well does this game lend itself to the solo type player?

I'm nowhere near max level yet but solo play seems alright. Two issues come to mind.

1) Personal stories are leveled meaning no matter how high you are it will down level you just like it does in zones and some of the personal stories are terribly balanced. It isn't at all consistent in this regard. Wife and I playing together but picked different backgrounds to get different stories. Both instances featured wave upon wave of mobs of the same level but in one of these we get nearly insta killed and in the other we stroll through like nothing. We have yet to figure out what the difference was but we've seen it happen a few times. Alone it is worse, plus when you restart from checkpoint your npc companions will still be dead.

2) Some of events are basically impossible alone, I thought this were scaled by number of participants but in my solo adventuring I've come across some by myself that were spawning such a large number of mobs that it would be impossible to do without a significant level advantage. This one makes me wonder what the game will be like in a few months when the lower level zones are emptier.

I don't even recall there being a link to click on. I went to the GW2 site directly without clicking on anything and I tried to log in and it says my email is not valid or something to that effect. same with the game.

It's a very solid MMO over-all, but it does feel like it's still in late beta phase to me as they still do some pretty significant balancing tweaks once they see the player base behaving a certain way. That and as someone else said, GW2 has no subscription fees.

Working on my Warrior currently who's up to 22, plan to work on my thief after I gear out my Warrior and try rifle farming a bit.
