expandas and I playing too much metro?... LOL...I think having 3 skilled ATOT on one squad is too OP... That was fun! Our squad flanked the whole opposing team...and ended the round pretty quick... just need to burn off some of the rust!:awe::thumbsup:

Has anyone bought AK by itself? AK is the only DLC I find interesting, I'm willing to wait the 2 weeks.

Download the newest Chrome, IE, or Firefox (whichever one you don't use). Make it default. Launch BF3 and the Origin game browser will open that new browser, detect that the web plugin needs to be installed, and it will install. Bingo.

Tried that, usually use Chrome and downloaded Firefox, same problem. I doesn´t seem to detect that the web plugin isn´t installed.

Are you running a 64 bit browser? If so, drop back to IE 32bit or a 32bit browser.


On a different note, I really suck at normal play. I am very much used to the quick strike in as a ground pounder.

Tried playing a few more matches today and I'm no longer playing any AK games unless I can join games with someone I know; when I'm solo-q'ing I'll play TDM and leave AK for when some of people I know are online. I'm tired of squad-mates not gunning/repairing if I'm driving and I'm tired of repairing for tanks that don't move, sit out in the open as if they were glorified artillery pieces (moreover, the overwhelming majority of players who I have seen try to make map-spanning shots have some of the worst aim in the entire game).

Like I said, I want BF3 Conquest/Tank Domination to be great and it theory I think it can offer such a fun experience. In practice, however, it just causes me to hurt my stats and get frustrated.

On top of that, there seems to be some _serious_ map imbalance issues going on. Every game I've play has been a spawn camping slaughter fest from the start. At least for 64 player servers. Check out the scoreboards in the server browser. Every game is either fresh, or has one team dominating the other. There are no games that I can find where for example both teams have 50% or 25% of their tickets left. It's always 90/50, 80/10, etc. Maybe it's just a fluke or something and things will even out once people get used to it...I dunno.

I hate this. I've only been on one server, a long time back, that had an aggressive auto-balance option. While people did not like being auto-balanced that frequently, the games I played that night on the server were always at least somewhat close. Why more servers don't have this setup is beyond me.

How many times have any of you been on a 1000 ticket server or something like that, and the score is 750 to 189, and the server messages are saying, Auto-Balancing starting in 3 seconds, Auto-Balancing starting in 2 seconds, etc...? I just LOL because it's clear, it ain't AB'ing sh1t...

My play today has been a mixed bag. Early this morning I dominated, mid-day I sucked. I blame my team for the suckage. :biggrin:

Actually the game wasnt too lop sided but the opposing team had 2 very good jet pilots who dominated the skies. Even when we could take the Gunship base they would knock it of the air almost immediately and our chopters and jets were mowed down in the same fashion. I hate jets!

That auto balance is just the server making the teams have equal numbers. Its not the auto scramble that a lot of servers do after lopsided games.

Just the choice of the admins. When my clan had a few BF3 servers, both auto balancing and scramble were on.

The autoscramble, unfortunately, is a double-edged sword. It's such a hassle when I'm playing with a group of friends and we have to spend time before each new match trying to get back on the same team.

Panda doesnt have AK, and I was getting tired of tank superiority. Its just not my cup of tea. Besides, something was up with my aim, and I think playing a couple of rounds of Metro made things right.

Yeah, I realized that even though I was a top 0% SV98 player, I dont actually know how to snipe in BF3. I had no idea how to gage the distances or use the markings on the scope. And when I tried to get close to you, either you, other snipers, or frickin tanks would take me out. When I stopped playing a few months ago my longest headshot is only 400m...with an AEK971. And I had over 2K snipe rifle kills. lol

And I dont get the point of soflam, when a tank can pop smoke very 10 sec or so. I was basically just using it to annoy people, but it seems like they popped smoke so often that they didnt even bother looking for the soflam and went on their way. One guy didnt even move for like 5 min, just kept popping smoke. Range on the javs and stingers are too short. hehe..I'm sure if I looked back a few months in the thread I will see I am probably complaining about the same things, but AK really seems to amplify the balance issues.

They tweeked alot of the weapons since you last played a few months ago... the aiming for the guns, random bullet spread, and recoil have changed in an attempt to balance everything - but made some worst in most cases... the most recent update a few days made some guns worst due to many people crying the weapons were too OP... Like i have to get used to the M16 and M14 again...D::thumbsdown:

Ive yet to play tank superiority on a full server, I imagine it would be one giant charlie foxtrot*.

Yep. That's my problem with autoscramble/balance. Have the time my buddies and I are on different teams because one of us will always end up being the "last one" to join.

hmmm...didnt feel like it. I tried to use the stinger on one map for like 5 lives, and I didn't get one shot off. Either they were too far away or they would just pop flares every few seconds.

Although strangely, I somehow suppressed a little bird with the M27, who was flying straight at me. I thought I just shot him through the windshield, but he said in the chat I suppressed him. I thought it was strange that he couldn't hit me when he was right in front of me. hahahaha This game is screwy.

Its kinda interesting, but I expected squads to break up into two two man teams, and engineer + engineer or engineer + support. One guy repairing while the other guy fighting etc. But its just a bunch of people running around in a tank! Or a bunch of snipers. It doesn't help that I don't have a lot of tank unlocks. Or maybe I do, but I don't think they are set up. It could be that the strategies aren't formed yet because it was the first day. Anyways, its like Metro for tanks....with less teamwork!

Theres nothing wrong with playing against friends...makes for good banter during the matches. :biggrin:

Whats worst is when they auto scramble you, then when the round starts the Admin auto kills a bunch of us to try to balance the round - but it fails because I always get Admin balanced and prevents me to do my usual fast flanking on metro then the team that doesn't get Admin Killed balance takes the B Flag easily....
