Damn, I wish BF3 had Battle Recorder.

I was playing Metro and had a flood of guys coming down the front stairs. Killed 2 with the G3, out of ammo switched to the 93R and killed 2 more then ran out of ammo, switched to the knife and killed 3 more coming down the stairs. Then backup came.

So wish I could have recorded it.

That would've been fun to watch... the funny thing is when you have FRAPs to record nothing like that happens...

I used to record everything, but like in quantum theory the act of observation seemed like it changed the gameplay I would normally get. The FPS drop combined with always trying to do something worthy of a video always meant I ended up with mediocre footage. I can also see it in my stats...without recording my KD went up around .5 in the last 25% of my total play time. My machine is much better now, so I should buy an SSD for recording and give it another go, but I think I'd rather push my KD to 2 before MoH comes out.

As mentioned previously we suspect the spawn protection is limited to your computer/internet connection loading time for spawning. So only people with high ping/slow computers have appreciable spawn protection. People like me just get to spawn already dead :\

Ugh, I hope that is not another reason to artificially gimp your connection. BF3 just seems to favour the high pingers.

Seriously, you're griping about high pingers because they have the advantage of longer spawn protection? Have you thought about how miserable it is for them to play with a high ping.

Man, the people that plays this game. Just the other night some douche was crying about how he's being killed by DART and how that person should be kicked. I told him 1, they already fixed the dart bug, and 2, is he going to start crying about a certain gun every time he gets killed by one.

its kinda well known that cranking your latency dial to the right makes you rubber band for others and gives you an edge if you want to deal with the side effects

I'm not crying about spawn protection for HPB's. I'm complaining about a lack of spawn protection for everyone else. They should at least make you glow or something when you have spawn protection. That way you know not to waste bullets on invulnerable people.

No it doesn't. If you have a high ping, that means enemies have a longer period of time to shoot you before you go behind cover, and have more time to shoot at you before being registered as dead. Having a higher ping means 1) you will more frequently die "out of nowhere", 2) die while seemingly behind cover, and 3) not get kills in gun fights because your shots do not register a kill until your opponent has already fired enough shots to kill you as well (leading to more simultaneous kills instead of you kill and survive). The only upside of having a high ping is that you can kill an enemy while he thinks he is already behind cover, causing effect #2 to the enemy. But this effect is reciprocal because it applies to you as well and thus cancels out. Therefore the negatives clearly outweigh any potential benefits.

my only real beef with spawn protection is when im shooting at someone running away from me and someone spawns on him and acts as a bullet shield
