Did you not play bf2? lol

Horns are awesome. Adds a whole 'nother level of potential comedy.
No, BC2 was my first of the BF series. Not because Im a youngster or anything like that. (I played the original Doom!) I just read so much negative stuff about BF that I just avoided it and to be honest I really wasnt that impressed with BC2 but BF3 has won me over.

I suppose horns could be useful in some situations, but I just know they would be abused by asshats. (including myself at some point)

I take back everything I ever said about Battlelog.

A combination of events have occurred:

1. It has grown on me, as it offers a ton of info in a pretty fast and efficient way.
2. There have been quite a few updates, and the server filter is working pretty well for me now, because...
3. I did in fact have a router configuration issue (multiple routers), as I effed up and left the second router running DHCP as it was my main router when I was in Georgia this summer. Don't know how I missed that... but haven't really been doing anything networking related recently.

So, the end result: I has unlimited pings in the server browser! :awe:
Excellent
That, coupled with the other things, has made the server browser alone a standout feature imho. It felt super crippled on my end, and I have a feeling it was the routing conflict.

Still haven't had a chance to play with anyone here. I'm not really good, but I love good teamwork and am willing to coordinate between squad members. Add me if you're down for some large scale Conquest/Rush. Currently loving Gulf of Oman and Wake Island.

Origin: pansylad

seriously the mobile AA unit is still op as hell

Really depends on the gametype/map. It's OP as hell on Noshahr canals, but it's weak on every other map. It's balanced on noshahr once you get someone in the scout chopper that has laser pointer/guided missile.

Many of the things they prematurely balanced in the game would have fixed themselves as people unlocked stuff.

Any decent jet pilot can kill the AA out of it's range with 1 pass. Rockets and then switching to gun. It usually won't blow up outright, but the guy inside will bail out in fear and then you can get it on the next pass. Choppers with TV missiles are murder on the mobile AA.

Between a 6970 or GTX 570, which card would you recommend for battlefield 3?

It really depends. If you can stand to play the game without MSAA then the 6970 will probably be the better choice.

MSAA isn't that important in BF3 because it comes with huge performance hit, but it doesn't anti-alias the whole screen. Only certain objects receive MSAA in engines that use deferred rendering. The post AA method in the game provides decent results with negligible performanc impact. If you plan on using just post AA the 6970 should be a better choice.

Don't let anyone scare you from nvidia or AMD with driver complaints. Both companies work perfectly fine, especially with a single card. If you can stand to wait until February you should see some interesting things happen to current GPU prices once the lower tier AMD 28nm gpu's get released.

Anyone else leave a server when you're on a horrible team?

I don't do it to protect my stats... I do it just because games are supposed to be fun, and if you're going 20-16 while everyone else on your team is 2-20 fun is non-existant. So screw the noobs let them get dominated. I'm going to a different server.

I'm the same way. It's more apparent on the 360 when you only have 11 teammates. If someone is waiting to spawn into a vehicle, and there's a handful on snipers the team is left with maybe two squads worth of people actually playing the objective. I usually play rush, and this leads to the team getting crushed easily. I'll leave if I'm defending and the first M-coms are gone within minutes. It's just not fun if you're one of maybe 4-5 people actually playing the objective.

I just switch teams and trash my noob former teammates. Much easier.

Joining new servers sometimes leaves me in another lousy team because that's the only team that has space, because everyone good has already left the game or switched team to the better side 😛

If I'm playing on an air map I'll usually just switch to a jet and fight in the air. In the skies victory is more dependent on skill than teamwork so I can work towards air superiority without the handicap of my teammates.

vehicle loadouts are totally different on the console, which is why i think its OP as all get out. the number of people that run the soflam so you can laser designate stuff is tiny,

the little bird/scout only exists on 2 maps (canals and peak) on canals rush you can sit in the AA tank and blow up the helis as soon as someone gets in them on the ship. there are no jets on canals on the console either

Dodging the guided rockets is actually pretty easy as well

that makes me so sad. I feel that happens a lot when i play..some player simply just know were you are on map no matter what.

I can usually tell when someone is using ESP hacks. I talk trash constantly in servers and usually the person who responds and then ends up constantly prefiring me around corners and calling me bad is more than likely cheating.

Last night I had a guy that I killed once and he got pissed. Next thing I know every time I reload my weapon he's coming around a corner. Other stupid things like me standing in a crowd and him killing me before the 6 guys that are closer to him are even bigger giveaways.

my Origin is marky620 if anyone wants to add me.

Hoping for Voip soon at least within squads. Pretty average player but can def hold my own in a Tank or I am a good chopper gunner.

Is hacking prevalent in BF3 on pc?

I was playing yesterday, and some guy in a tank seemed to always know where I was at. Everytime I popped by head above a hill to look for him, there was a tank shell coming my way instantly.

I knew the guy was hacking because no matter how many times I respawned, and no matter which hill I was hiding behind, the guy always had the tank shell coming my way the instant I popped up for a shot with my RPG.

Needless to say, I changed servers. He ended up being like 20 kills 4 deaths in a tank which isn't outragious by any means. He probably would have ended up much higher but the tank shells are easy to dodge as an infantry.

I wonder if this hack also applies to those in a tank or if its just an on foot type thing.

I do it for my heart and blood pressure. I try and stick it out but a lot of times I can't. I'm generally a nice person but you wouldn't know if from my yelling at the monitor :\

Yeah - I do that sometimes too but I usually get autobalanced back to the crappy team when someone else quits
