I was thinking of trying jets, but for the life of me can't get all the controls bound correctly. The default ones don't make sense...middle mouse button for yaw? it turns both ways real fast when you press it! :p

What key setup do you guys use for jets? This is what i was doing..
w =throttle
s =decrease
a =left turn
d = right turn
LFmouse = down
Rtmouse = up

What keys do you use to bank left and right because i can't figure it out since middle mouse button is one key in bindings :/

unless they are super bad i generally play it out and still get a good K/D and score. if we are being spawn trapped i generally just hide in the back and wait for it to end or mortar people

I was called a hacker this morning!!!! Wow, now I feel really accomplished in the game!! For those that don't know, I am generally pretty mediocre as a player, and just like good teamwork and have fun rushing flags (don't mind being a bullet sponge at all). I did have a couple great rounds (due to playing with expandas), but that accusation really caught me off guard. I think it was because I hit a camping sniper from a long distance.. but I was using a LMG with a bipod.

I wonder what an actual good solution would be for detecting hackers? (Thinking out loud now).. I know someone mentioned that a lot of the hacks sit between the game and graphics drivers.. and after looking up some videos, it does look like they draw on top of the screen. Also, it looks like the cheater's aim moves around rapidly. I wonder if they somehow limited how quickly you were able to aim? Game checksums wouldn't work if the hack is outside the program, but maybe video card drivers could have hooks that only allow one process access to the card when in game mode?

I would think that the motion of the hacking players would be easily detectable compared to a regular player?

I'm finding it really hard to destroy anything with the engineer's rpg and anti air weapons. It takes like 4 rockets to destroy a tank which gives him plenty of time to back away and repair. As for anti air it seems like all they need to do is drop a flare and my missile has zero chance of hitting. Any tips? Do I just need to unlock better weapons/upgrades?

Usually takes 3 RPG hits to disable a tank unless someone is repairing. Since the nerf of stingers, they are virtually useless now. The Javelin works best against armor and aircraft. The Javelin usually only takes 2 hits for a tank and 1 for aircraft. It can lock onto ground targets on its own but requires a teammate to laser paint air targets, either with the SOFLAM or from a CITV Station in a tank.

Still haven't had a chance to play with anyone here. I'm not really good, but I love good teamwork and am willing to coordinate between squad members. Add me if you're down for some large scale Conquest/Rush. Currently loving Gulf of Oman and Wake Island.

Origin: pansylad

I added you guys to the post in my sig. Check it out and send some out some friend requests. Typically the guys you see posting in the BF3 threads actively play.

I was playing yesterday, and some guy in a tank seemed to always know where I was at. Everytime I popped by head above a hill to look for him, there was a tank shell coming my way instantly.

Was he using a proximity sensor on his tank? With that first slot perk you get notified whenever people are running near your vehicle. Crouching and proning keeps you undetected.

Quality placed shots make quick work of tanks, aim for the sides or the rear they are the weak spots. Head on shots don't do nearly as much damage as the rest of the areas.

I knew the guy was hacking because no matter how many times I respawned, and no matter which hill I was hiding behind, the guy always had the tank shell coming my way the instant I popped up for a shot with my RPG.

Needless to say, I changed servers. He ended up being like 20 kills 4 deaths in a tank which isn't outragious by any means. He probably would have ended up much higher but the tank shells are easy to dodge as an infantry.

I wonder if this hack also applies to those in a tank or if its just an on foot type thing.

Are you sure he was cheating? That's a really odd description, and 20-4 is pretty terrible. This is a decent tank round for me :

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/#!/bf3/battlereport/show/15789511/1/365891337/

I switch my secondary weapon between LMG and guided shell (if I'm lucky enough to have someone lighting targets).

I also always have thermal imaging on, as a lot of people that will randomly jump in your tank will have proximity scan as well.

Anyway, combo of prox scan, thermal imaging, and other random people spotting you can make it seem like someone can see you at all time, but more often than not it's just things like that getting you.

Given that BF3 is a rock/paper/scissors world, best thing to do is change strategy. If soloing it with an RPG is a no go, try heli, jav team, get in a tank and beat him at his own game, etc.

Flares wouldnt have helped you anyhow against laser guided munitions.

Just to follow up with me trying to learn how to fly..

Just use the keyboard and no mouse. easier and no fumbling around for keys.

Though i still have not figure out how to get more sharper turns with jet. Seems takes the whole map for me :/

Using the keyboard only is fine except when it comes time to line up a shot. Try hitting infantry on the ground, you won't be anywhere near as effective as a mouse user.

I still think the best setup is mouse + keyboard but with spacebar re-mapped to "bank up". It allows you full control during aerial manuevers but also the precision aiming from using a mouse.

Yah i will try that. That could be why my turns take so long to using keyboard does not have sensitivity mouse has.

I looked up the guy from my battlelog, and he seems fairly legit, so probably not a cheater. He has 182 hours on his character, and is probably just very good and had all the unlocks.

My first 3 games were terrible, then on my fourth I finally started to go 5-1 in the beginning and..

"Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'Snock514' (for 0 minutes) ... Losing Key"

You turn at the maximum rate when you are going ~300 kph. In order to go at this speed you have to constantly blip throttle down, as turning causes you to speed up by default (but if you just hold throttle down you will stall). Once you get the feel of it, it becomes easy to do it without thinking.

Now why you gonna go and drag me into this?!?

I play the objective. So what if I can't shoot? Or drive. Or fly.
