In my ~100 hours of BF3 I can't say I've ever seen anyone clearly hacking or cheating. Do you people play on unranked/non-pb servers all the time or what?

I suspect that that the actual occurrence of hackers on ranked/pb servers is very rare and that 99.9% of complains of hackers are just whining noobs.

PB/ranked servers still get plenty of hackers. PB is always playing catch-up on the latest hacks.

Depends on the server and type of play, I ban at least one hacker a day on our TDM server. The worse was when that armageddon hack was out, hacker could instantly kill the whole other team without even firing a shot.

But yes, more times than not, it's a whiner calling hacks on a legit player.

edit - I can't remember the name of the server but the other night, I was head-shot killed at the Gatehouse in Karkand from some hack with a UMP-45 from the 2nd building across from the Square Flag near the Hotel Flag. After the guy was 33-0, did the admins finally ban him.

I bet your foot was sticking through the wall. I do this all the time, and the foot is fair game.

I played Metro so much - I know most if not all the glitches in that map and what to do to exploit them or make it happen... and I will keep them to myself...hehehe :twisted:

On Karkand there is this spot on G where you go out of bounds for a bit then go in a warehouse and its the perfect beacon spot. I died 15 times trying to figure out because when you go out of bounds you cant see, but they can see you. So once someone is in there they can always get G, and you cannot get them out if there is more than one person. Ticked me off so much, but next time I play Karkand I'm gonna try it out. :p

Hackers are going nuts and DICE doesn't seem to give a ***. Meanwhile, Punkbuster apparently can't pick up that crap because it's web based or something like that.

I noticed 2 last night and a third the night before. I don't know if thats just coincidence or what. The one last night was killing me with a 'Repair tool' no matter where I spawned on metro even though he was in the opposite uncap.

I was still raging from the previous round where you guys had all the bases, and half my team was satisfied with camping INSIDE THE BANK as snipers.

We got and held ownership of B the next round and the team seemed satisfied with that, but I kept trying to bash through B and I eventually did make it through to C unnoticed. After a few guys spawned on me and we went to capture C, me and my Pecheneg racked up more than half of my kill total within a few crazy minutes.

tl;dr: blind squirrel, nut, etc. :biggrin:

Edit: Oops, I was describing this round. That's the one I remember most.

Yeah - that team was baaaad. It wasn't even a fun round. You got me back though. I think you killed me more than any other person in one of the following rounds. Jerk.

that is a bit weird


why are the sqdm maps seemingly smaller than TDM maps, or are they the same but seem smaller due to less people

I've found my self to be at 0% health on a handful of occasions. I have no idea how that works.

The whole % health thing has been messed up from day one. Like lots of things.

I can't find the video, it was during beta, when you would shoot people and health did not change. You can see them effects, but % never changed. lol

Same for tanks. They will smoke, but health is showing %100.

You notice it a lot with recon class if you shoot one recon while he shoots you at same time but not a headshot. He will still be %100 even though you saw you hit him to. :/

So, if the player's health is >=0.5%, it will round up to 1%, and if <0.5%, it will round down and display 0%. Easy. Why so mad over it? Point is, you almost killed him, but didn't.

seriously the mobile AA unit is still op as hell

A good pilot of a jet/attack chopper, an average tanker, javs, all of them can easily pop one. They're not really that great. Particularly considering the spectacular range of the TV missile/Javs.

its great if you have guided on helo and jet to have the helo get a lock and and his attention so he pops smoke then the jet comes in from behind and locks and fires the guided then strafes.....generally a kill unless the guided messes up


laser pod on the helo helps with getting them to blow the smoke, but it refills almost too fast :(

So completely opposite of other games work, because its so hard to put in actual %. Thats just lazy.

Still does not account for the fact you see damage on people..and no % at ALL shows up.

The % health of the player you see in the kill cam is not live, it's the % health when that person killed you.

Examples:
Enemy kills you outright, you didn't even get a shot off on them. They are at 100%, during the kill cam view one of your team mates kills the enemy.

You always see 100% health even though they are taking damage from your team mate (and die).

In the example you gave, two snipers firing at each other, the enemy bullet killed you while your bullet was in the air. The kill cam shows 100% enemy health because that's what he had when he killed you. Of course .1 seconds later your bullet hits him and he takes the damage. However since the % health isn't live you still see the enemy at 100% health.

Thank you. This is even more detail.

So, not lazy. It's correct and accurate, just has a fringe case of rounding down to 0%.

What they should probably have is a bleed out of like 10% on damage of 90% or more. A person loses +90% of health they should probably be dead anyways. You can stop it with a health pack, or a squad health perk (that they would need to add). Losing a gun battle by single % points always annoyed me, and assists do nothing for me! They should also have a grace period, so that if you do 90% damage on someone, you dont die, and someone else happens to shoot at the end and gets the other 10%, you get the kill. I hate to use the term "kill stealing", but I hate when it happens to me! :biggrin:

I can just imagine hearing a bunch of dumbasses tooting away the entire game...........it would be like one of those world cup soccer games with all those damn horns.

Horns are awesome. Adds a whole 'nother level of potential comedy.

Its nice to have when you want a squad mate or random player to stop running and get in the vehicle with you.
