Wow, I finally got the Scar-H for engineer and that gun is definitely slightly overpowered. Very easy to kill with at short to medium range.

Yea I got that one last night as well, I love that thing close range its pretty deadly.

Can't wait to get the grip for it, should make long range shooting more manageable.

Does anyone know if there's a key that will allow me to switch back and forth between the primary and secondary weapons? I don't mean "equip secondary." The problem with that is if you hit it a second time, it doesn't go back to the main gun. I want the equivalent of Y on the 360 for Black Ops.

Also, does anyone know why the game seems to forget what loadouts I have between missions? Like I'll have the scope equipped for a gun and the next level, the scope is no longer equipped. I can put it back on but the game doesn't seem to remember.

Ok, finally started playing and have a few questions. Though before I ask I must say how much it sucks starting over. In BC2 I'm usually upper 1/3 (I get lucky a lot) so that made me cocky regarding this... well, 1 round with a positive KDR in the 7 Ive played has helped cure that :D

1) tac lights... any counter? I get blinded very easily, quite annoying in broad daylight
2) friend/foe... how the heck can you tell? Sometimes I get blue triangle things over friends but seem to pop up and disappear at random, am I doing something wrong? Can you press something to keep the triangle up? Plus when I spot something it does not put anything over it, I just see it on my mini map, is that how it's supposed to be? This has lead me to shoot up those on my team and ignore those who are not and I really have to depend on the mini map.
3) Defuse. I assume this is just hold "e" like BC2? I was at an active mcom and I did not seem to be able to defuse it but I could blow up the C4... seems odd.

I'm sure these were asked before but it's a long thread, my apologies if so.

Thanks!!!

It is not like beta where the Russian and USA have the same weapons (until you fully rank up that class).

So if you have flashlight for M4 equiped as USA next round when you switch over to Russian the flashlight will not be equiped on the AKS...

I didnt play the beta so I'm a little behind on this matter, but I can't believe how atrociously shit Metro is. Spawn -> Insta die from some bush dwelling sniper douche -> repeat. Over and over and over.

Ugh another annoyance - why is the destruction so shit in TDM? This little pussy was sitting in a building in Caspian, camping it up with ammo packs, surrounded by claymores, and it was impossible to kill him because he was placed perfectly in this non-destructible building. Extremely frustrating.

You can crouch walk / prone crawl past claymores without setting them off.

And if that doesn't work, send in a stream of guys to die to the claymores then kill him.

not really, its improved a little since the beta, and honestly its a legit tactic in dark situations but the blinding during daylight needs to be fixed, stat. thats just dumb.

spotting is different than bc2. the 3d spotting will only show if you have line of sight. when they move behind cover, you lose the overhead nacho cheese dorito but will remain spotted on the minimap. when in doubt about an ememy/friendly at distance, i hit Q and if they turn red i shoot. in CQB, ill just shoot first as picking out enemy uniforms is nearly impossible. obviously not a good tactic for hardcore with FF on though.

unlike bc2, you have to be directly in front of the mcom looking at it to defuse. you cant run around it or look away or else you'll have to start defusing/arming over again.

Disable Bloom in BF3:

open C:\Users\xxx\Documents\Battlefield 3\settings\prof_save_profile in Notepad (make a copy beforehand just in case.)

Search for the word enlighten and then change the "1" following it to a "0", then save.

So turns out if you find a supply crate you can keep laying mines to your hearts content. Which, seems to work very well on Grand Bazaar!

And Gully, that kill you got me with the repair tool was hilarious. I realized I was taking damage but I couldn't figure out where from so I decided to try and run away, which didn't work. Then kill cam showed up and I just saw this guy with a blow torch running away from my charred body and lost it. Probably one of my favorite deaths so far!

And mines have permanence. Was playing caspian, laid some mines early in the match and forgot about them. Late in the match, after getting killed a few times, I get a couple of vehicles disabled points. Couldn't figure out why until I remembered the mines laid in the beginning.
Now I'm going to start laying mines early and often.

This thread makes me sad that I am not playing :(.

I got a 6 kill RPG shot, LOL...names kept scrolling.

I know, right. I am having withdrawal symptoms while trying to work.

How did you get that many with an RPG? Someone was walking towards me while outfitted with the RPG. With no time to switch to gun, fired it, landed at his feet and he kept walking towards me. He finished me off with a scar-h. Kill cam showed him with no damage.

Was sick all weekend with a cold so I spent the majority of it playing BF3, man this game is too much fun. A few bugs and annoying issues (that I hope DICE is aware and will fix soon), I have not had this much fun in an online game in a very long time. I even ordered another 6870 to run Xfire :) I'm sitting here at work wanting to go home and play some more.

One thing I have to say is that for the maps in future DLC, they should do a few that are at dusk or twilight. It'll be a nice change of color palette, different from all the bright high-noon type maps.

A few gripes:

-If you're standing within a cap zone in conquest, your vehicle repair indicator disappears, looks like it's overridden by capzone indicator.
-Some environmental objects are bulletproof when they shouldn't be, like chainlink fences.
-While there are a lot of unlocks, 80% of those unlocks are useless--who the hell would put an 8x scope on a SCAR carbine?

thermal is the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

While I am a big fan of the infrared scope, as it does let you find annoying snipers and campers quickly, the 1x zoom makes it pretty poor at actually hitting those people from any distance. The IR scope is how I have managed to get most of my backstab kills though - see a prone sniper, run around him and stab :awe:

I've been using the IR scope for a long while but I think I am depending on it too much. I'm trying to go back to using a 6x scope+laser combo instead. I actually may switch out of engineer to assault or recon as I've been frustrated at the lack of long range stopping power lately.

Wait, so if I'm running with my squad right from the get go, so they are less than 10m away, should they have anything over their heads without holding the spot button? I ask because right now they don't except every once in a while. I literally don't see dots over anyone except sometimes when I spot, but usually even then I don't any indicator at all except for the mini-map.

I probably need to update my drivers, I'm still running an older 11.8 I believe. It would probably help it run better on my 5760x1200 setup anyway.

I think the problem with your team not having markers over their heads is a issue with multi-monitor setups.

I’m having problems spotting. It’s the Spot/Communications key right? Pretty obvious. But I’m looking directly at an enemy, pressing the key, nothing happens. I have to smash it like 5 times before my guy says anything and the dorito shows up.
