Looks a lot like CoD to me :|

From that short clip and a few scenes pretty much any modern shooter would look like CoD. What sets the BF series apart is larger maps, less choke points, more tactics, and less running around like charged particles spamming grenades. BFBC2 is the BF equivalent of CoD imho.

Hopefully it's not just gun fight -> death like CoD is too. In MW2 I could run around all day, running shooting, running shooting, and rarely die. I am hoping BF3 you have to play a little harder, and not be so unconscious about where you are.

I'm not feeling Wake. From watching today's trailer, I'm seeing a lot of Jalalaba, Mashtuur, maybe Sharqi.

I agree. Wake was a remake of 1942, and never really fit into the BF2 style. It will be even less fitting for BF3, which is all about urban warfare.

I thought I saw some recent hype about Wake as one of the 4 simply because it has been in every, or nearly every, Battlefield installment and is the most popular map for jet reliant point sluts? (BC2 not being a Battlefield installment)

This looks to be a modern war shooter I'm actually interested in for once. Too bad I'm going to be deployed when this comes out but it'll be here when I get back right? 😀

Well they're saying it's a true Battlefield successor so if you've ever played any Battlefields other than Bad Company, you'll know what you're getting.

I like city maps well enough, as long as they are open like the maps in BF2. But I'll be disappointed if they don't include some rural terrain as well.

If those are real:
No minimap? The sky is falling...no prominent minimap makes me fear that there will be wallhack 3D spotting again ala BC2.

Looks like they might be using some type of directional spotter on the lower left hand corner. So less information than a mini-map, but probably more realistic...gives you the direction of your enemies only, not their spot on the map.

Holy shit

Screenshots like these are typically from the single player. That HUd is likely showing direction of an objective.

Good stuff this is worth a preorder which I usually don't do. Hopefully it will be on steam, BF1/2 have had long lives with me and I really don't want to track the CD keys any longer.

i guess its up to 60 at amazon.

wish they would stick to 50

My pre-order at Amazon still stands at $50. I assume it will come back down to $50 at some point between now and the release date (whenever that is...Amazon says Dec. 31st). The nice thing about Amazon is that they'll give it to you for the lower price if it drops between now and then.
