News flash guy nik hates bf3 and snipers!!!

Bagging maps hes never even seen yet as uninteresting. Already decided he hates them

Tapatalking on my pos thunderbolt. Sry for teh typos!

Because there aren't numerous youtube videos, overhead maps, on ground pictures to compare to, which I've posted, and have a long argument as to my position. And you know what, no one has any answers to them, because the points are simply true.

There is a marked decrease in complexity and variability of gameplay and map design. When was the last time you heard anything about BF3 that wasn't "My KDA was high". It isn't "I prevented the enemy commander from doing anything at all", "Stole a Jet from the enemy base and bombed their uncap" or anything that resembles stories.

Also combined with the fact that the current maps mostly suck except for about 3 which are somewhat playable. 2 of those maps are in back to Karkand, which are only because they copied a large portion of the map, and STILL managed to dumb it down. Compare the across the rover portion of the map in BF2 and BF3. BF3 has nothing there compered to BF2.

You can't even destroy the bridge, which was a huge part of that map. The current map designers can't make a good map unless its a carbon copy of previous classics.

I can't watch yt at work, and the suspense is killing me. Are you saying pretty much I'm an idiot, and manual laze has been available all this time?!!? I'm seriously going to go cry if that's true...

Chucky, you get this figured out OK? Curious if this is what you were talking about. After you deploy the soflam your solider is holding a little device. Run somewhere safe and hit whatever key you have mapped to enter the device. Then you can manually control the soflam...

High KDR is not typical of snipers, or any class for that matter. It is typical to skilled players, period. Just look at how many snipers have terrible KDR. I played with Xpandas and Arkaign, and they don't usually snipe much at all, if ever, and their KDR's have been better than my own in some games we played. They Tank and Fly and they kick ass doing it with very high KDR that I have a hard time competing with often. So, high KDR is a result of skill and not class. Play against me as a sniper and see how high your KDR goes. =)

EDIT: There are other good players I have played with from this forum as well. There is talent here and we should make a clan or something.

I've played with a few of the guys here and we worked pretty good as a team. I only get to play extremely late at night these days because of work, but I'm on there every night from about 3:30am central - 5:00am central time. Any other second shifters out there on playing feel free to ad me VulgarDisplay on origin.

I'll be the one at the top of the scoreboard in game. ;)

Oh yeah, I've been doing that forever. In fact I find a safe spot and use Q to semi-manually laze stuff all the time. Problem is, it just takes one enemy copter or tank or jeep to get closer, and the SOFLAM breaks the lock on the copter hosing down an objective and instead paints a jeep that just got abandoned. Insanity.

That's why I'd like a manual laze feature. I want to be able to put the center recticle on a target, hold down say my left mouse button, and the SOFLAM shoots a lazer at that point. Heck, forget holding down the left mouse button. How about I put the center recticle on what I want lazed, click the left mouse button (instead of holding it down), and it turns laze on. When I click the left mouse button again, it stops lazing.

This lets me put the lazer on what I want, and keep it on there. Not have the SOFLAM F up continuously on busy maps.

If I see a sniper hiding out in a spot that can't really be engaged by aimed fire, I could even laze the enemy sniper.

The range on the SOFLAM is already gimped enough, plus getting people to actually help killing something instead of the sniper sitting there Q'ing sh1t all day and no one is killing the copter killing us all, or killing the jet killing us all, is hard enough. We shouldn't have to fight with auto-F'up...

Did they change the flight mechanics? It looks like all of my bindings were reset, so I set flight to inverted, pitch up to space bar, but it seems when I hit space bar the nose goes down. OK, so I set pitch down to space bar and it really goes down. WTF is going on?

The new patch screwed up alot of stuff... have to redo them again... and sometimes the kit settings you save on battlelog for each class does not even load during in game...

Armored kill is available now. Downloading at 2.3mb/s

Peaked at 3.62 here, sustained for 3.3, took ~ 15 mins to d/l for me.

Guys guys guys, just got done with 30 mins on Bandar http://battlefield.wikia.com/wiki/Bandar_Desert OMG I am back in love with this game.

Captured E all by my lonesome vs two engineers with some C4 and a bipod PPK.

This is epic, like seriously if you don't like it, I dunno what you will like about BF3 anymore.

Played a few maps... pretty epic... the Alborez Mountain snow map was nice and there was one sniper all the lonesome at the top of the tallest mountain... everyone was wondering how he got up there and we started giving him hell...

Flying a chopter in the forest is not cool! the trees are too OP!D:

Yeah that's happened to me a couple times. My jet setup got reset got reset too. Nothing worse than taking off and then releasing you have no air radar and are equipped with AA missiles.

I think the biggest problem is the new maps are too wide open and don't have enough cover. This favors campers/snipers. I'm comparing to BC2 since I didn't play BF2 much.

Surprisingly I'm not too happy about the new maps. They seem lazily done for the most part. The snow one is atrocious as is the big grassy one, forget the name, a big rectangle really. Bandar and the other ones are okay.

They just don't feel up to the quality of the other big maps that came with the released game.

Moon, we need to setup a sniper team :)

I'll be a mid/close range recon and marksmen role, you can be a long range support.

Yes, this shall come to pass. Have we played? I can't remember. Did you friend me? Is your Origin name Canbacon? Sorry if I forgot.

Yup, we may have crossed paths by sniping each other. I'm more of a med/short range m40 guy.

I've only played a PUG rush AK. So far, it is a lot easier for rushers to get behind the lines; especially if the gunship is up. Very hard to defend on Alborz until you get to the last two points. Then it becomes a big bottleneck to the final points.

Recently I've been playing a bunch of BF3 again, although I have been mostly sticking to infantry-only TDM matches as I find it frustrating to pug Conquest games b/c it is usually difficult to find teammates who are willing to work together as squad (which, coincidentally, was the reason I took a 2-3 month break from the game back in February).

If anyone is a good MBT/APC driver, I like taking the gun/repairing; for 3-4 months after the game's release I was lucky enough to gun for the guy who, at the time, was the #1 ranked vehicle player (he's now only top-200 as he also took a break from the game). I'm also not terrible as a driver but I like gunning/repairing and would rather be part of a winning combo than take the MBT/APC away from someone more skilled than myself.

I reckon with the new expansion pack's emphasis on armored combat, I'll enjoy it a lot more if I play with a few people who know what they are doing and willing to work together.

Anyway, Origin ID is Karaya_One (although I have yet to play with anyone from AT, I have added a few AT members to my friends list). BF3 stats page: http://bf3stats.com/stats_pc/Karaya_One

Also, as I haven't really done much with vehicles since February or March, what's the optimal load-out for tanks? I only ask because I thought I read somewhere -- perhaps even in various posts in this thread -- that tanks have been nerfed or Javs buffed, or perhaps both. When I would drive, I would use Reactive, Thermal and the light-machine gun; is this still viable or do you need smoke now?

Thanks, in advance, for any tips you have regarding my question and I hope to be playing with some of you all in the near future.

Regards,

I wouldnt go near a tank w/o smoke now

smoke/reactive/your choice of weapon

Is there anywhere to get premium for cheaper than full price? I feel like I am getting suckered in to buying it so I can play it sooner than in 2 weeks...

Edit: Actually, all I really want is that premium knife..
