AMD is up 10% today to about $29

Apparently people are getting hot and heavy over their new roadmap chip announcement.

yeah it's basically 2003 all over again for AMD. They essentially beat Intel in every metric now, across the board, and Intel doesn't seem to have anything to offer (that is also secure from data theft) for the next 1-2 or so years. All that remains to be seen is if Intel is again willing to spend a few $100mill to buy clients away from choosing AMD's better tech over their own.

This time its tariffs on Mexico, looks like more selling ahead. So far the QQQs have fallen from a 52 week high of 191 to 175, and it did it no time. I think we are in a correction.

edit: If the market falls too much, Kudlow will probably contradict the president later in the day tomorrow to help stabilize things....happens all the time.

Kudlow might be the only other person in the room dumb enough and worthy enough to challenge Trump for the Epic Dunce of the Century award.

So, don't count on it.

Finally sold off my AMD for $29.58 today.

I've gotten kinda antsy - because I honestly am starting to think the market altogether is in for some kind of correction.... But who knows. If I knew this shit I wouldn't be working.

Guess we're getting a rate cut.

Don't count it. There is absolutely, positively no reason to lower rates at this time. I know these days prudence is as unpopular as tax increases however it wouldn't be prudent to lower rates simply to give the market a temporary boost.

You are correct, we are in need of a correction. It is healthy. There is also nothing wrong with taking a profit, just remember though its hard to call a top or bottom.

Everybody wants dessert but nobody wants to eat their brussel sprouts.

Yar. The studies showed humans could beat monkeys throwing darts as far as buying - but as for selling humans lost to monkeys throwing darts.

Humans suck at letting go, makes sense.

I actually prefer brussel sprouts over dessert of any kind. I really don't like dessert/sweet things.

I saw a pretty compelling argument that because governments/companies/people in general are up to their eyeballs in debt; the US "can't have a recession" because the whole thing will fall apart.

Oh, and looking at the rate odds they are talking about three to four cuts between now and June 2020.

I don't understand the reasoning for rate cuts. Are we at risk for deflation? Hopefully the Fed doesn't see it as their job to prop up the stock market.
