Are the refs as bad as we think they are or are we just paying more attention to the refs than we normally do because we expect them to be bad?

definitely worse. Just because we think the old refs were bad doesn't mean that these guys can't be worse. And they are.

Anyone else get a kick out of Manning just walking up to Tomlin and Rberger to start a conversation just before the timeout?

It's weird. It just feels like there's a lot less penalties than normally called. I haven't seen a holding call the entire day. There's been a lot of "non-subjective" procedural calls that were not called - too many men on the field, neutral zone infractions not called, play clock run downs, ect.

I've been driving the last 3.5 hours - Manning looks great. Just like we would expect.

And also, I suck at fantasy drafts. :(

In other words, the replacement refs are actually letting Football be played. :awe:

Peyton is still very sharp. If the Fins has a QB like him, we would have a chance today.

Welcome back to the NFL Peyton. This is going to be a very interesting season. If he can remain healthy then this Denver team definitely has a shot to be special.

I was cracking up on those 2 downs with polamalu coming up to blitz and peyton doing his reading of the defense. It was awesome.

Aside from a slip in defense in the middle of the game, the broncos looked so damn good. If the defense can be more consistent we can come through in our tough match ups. This season is going to be awesome.

Great 1st Sunday of Football! Games on tomorrow night look pretty shitty but who knows. Seems like Monday Night Football has gotten horrible games for like 3 seasons now.

Replacement refs are an insult to the fans who pay money to see these games. It's an insult to pretty much everyone involved, really. They're not putting the best product on the field. Especially over so little money, when the NFL makes billions of dollars in profits every year. These replacement refs have an insane amount of pressure on them, and they don't have the experience needed. Get the goddamn refs back, this is bullshit. Roger Goodell's ego needs to drop down about 1000 levels.

Are the official NFL referees going to be perfect? No. But it won't be a mockery. The worst is yet to come. The whole season could be tainted by it if they stick with replacement refs.

RG3 appears to be the real deal! I'm pretty surprised I must say. Putting up amazing numbers and winning at Baylor is a lot different that doing it against and NFL team. He's calm cool and collected.

Another surprise is that Peyton looked good as ever, no rust whatsoever after not playing for 638 days and having neck surgery. He looked amazing. I am amazed. No one really new what to expect. Same ole' Peyton!

Why the hell didn't the Browns go for a 2 pt conversion? There was no risk in going for a 2 pt but a big risk in kicking a PAT and being up only by 6. Of course they lost by one point.
