Actually, let me spell it out for YOU. It is R G III, RG3, or however you want to denote it, but his last name is "Griffin," not "Jriffin."

My bad. "G" was stuck in my head. I know what his name is.

So when Andrew Luck plays a bad team and lights them up, we can go ahead and start penciling him into Canton? This is what I'm saying.

I never put Griffin into the HOF either.

The only one embarrassing himself in this thread is you. You can't even get the guy's name right (it is RGIII) and then try to divert by "Oh, you're bringing up x, y, z from the past!!" No, I'm not. You're the one that brought the past up in the first place, not me.

You brough up the Lions, which led to me beating you to the punch of saying "oh, the Colts have been a top team this entire decade and all the 2000s and have a ring. What did the Lions do?".

Actually, from about 95 on, the Colts were pretty good. Yeah, they had a couple of off years but most teams do. They missed the Super Bowl by one pass in 95/96 with Jim Harbaugh at the helm. But I'm sure you knew that already, right? Right?

Oh, the "every team can't win all the time" excuse. Ooooo kaaaayy.....

Oh, and the Colts are crappy? Thank you very much, Dr. Obvious. Is this somehow news or a revelation? No one denies that. I've said it many times here in fact. I cursed Irsay for getting rid of Manning because as bad as the Colts are, Manning by himself (at least pre-injury) almost guaranteed 10 wins on this shitty team. Yes, it is a shitty team. Just yesterday (I believe, maybe a few days ago) I remarked that I was afraid Luck was going to get beaten up against the Bears. Guess what? He was hit on nearly EVERY play.

Yay, you've come alive! Way to wake up.... way to go!!!

And believe me, you noobs may not understand this, but the Colts did NOT get shitty overnight. Those of us who watched this team over the last 5 or 6 years knew it was in deep trouble. The offensive line went to hell YEARS ago and Manning saved them. The defense was never great but you had Polian letting go of solid linebackers and keeping guys like Bob Sanders, who sucked up cap space, a roster position, and never played. Even with all of this, Manning masked most of the deficiencies very well. Make no mistake -- I am a huge Manning fan and I'm not ashamed to admit I hope the Broncos kick the Colts asses the first time they meet and I hope Irsay jumps out of his owner box in despair.

Noobs? How about if people don't religiously follow the team? Granted, you may and do, but that doesn't mean I or anyone else has to in order to form an opinion about them.

They're between a 2-14 and 4-12 team this year. They don't have the offensive line to protect Luck nor do they have a good defense. .. blah blah.. blah...

What excuses? I said they were supposed to lose and did blah blah blah...

I will give you this though -- Indy fans are spoiled. Maybe if the Lions put together a run like Manning did, you blah blah blah.....

Keep 'em comin'...

Sorry, I'll keep detailed football analysis out of future responses to you. As a Lions fan, I understand you're just getting used to real football.

Please do, becasue your blind excuse-making is keeping you oblivious to real football.

Missed the Saints game because I was installing the wiring in the new addition at work. 40-32. Damn that must have been ugly. Griffin certainly showed up it seems.

I've not seen wide receivers that open in a long time.

Who is butthurt? The Colts were expected to lose and they lost. Are you claiming the Saints defense is better than the Bears? Are you claiming the Redskins AREN'T a better team than the Colts? Are you claiming the Redskins don't have a better offensive line than the Colts? Please, humor me.

When you have a clue, please feel free to discuss football with me. The Manning/Leaf comparison is valid -- in 1998, a bunch of Chargers fans were bleating the same thing. How did that turn out?

Oh, are you a Lions fan? That would explain so much.

The Luck situation reminds me of Drew Bledsoe's when he first arrived at NE, they were coming off a 2-14 season and he was gonna be the difference maker, he eventually turned out to be but with a crappy D and no running game the early years were brutal for him, not being mobile, he took a LOTS of hits. Lets hope for Luck's sake they can get the ground game going a little and maybe the D could actually stop someone occasionally, giving up points like that takes away the run game in the second half..

Luck, Leaf, I've lost track of what the heck you're arguing about. 1 game does not predict a player's entire career.

Of course, RG3 is the first rookie quarterback to lead his team to 40 or more offensive points in the opening game of the season since 1950. 6 for 6 on his first series, leading to a field goal, and on the next series, only completed 1 pass. Of course, that was an 80 yard completion for a touchdown, so he didn't really have an opportunity to throw the ball more downs that series. :p What was the time of possession difference? Almost 40 minutes to just a hair over 20 minutes? Yikes!

One thing I've said even before he was drafted, is that I think RGIII is tremendously overrated as a runner. He never seemed very elusive in the open field during college; took way too many hits for a guy of his quantifiable athletic ability

I've forgotten more about football than you'll ever know, pal. You obviously don't know the differences between excuses and outlining the reasons why a team is having issues.

Funny you should mention Bledsoe, because Luck reminds me of him except Luck is more mobile. I hope he doesn't get "David Carr Syndrome" for all the hits he will suffer this year.

It happens, in SBXX Tony Eason was so rattled by the beat-down the Bears were handing him he fell to the ground and assumed the fetal position several times, he got yanked, Steve Grogan went in and got hammered too but at least he wasn't embarrassing the team even more than the Bears were already doing LOL..

Be real interesting to see how Manning does with no WR.

Meh, Manning can make all the throws, if he needs to dink and dunk ala Brady style I'm sure he's capable of that type of game plan, kind of a waste if Denver has no deep threat, Manning's great at the long ones..
