Whoever keeps doing this in the Democratic party should really stop if they truly want to replace the nominee. Seems that some think that they could use the replace scenario to bypass a primary they could never win, or seeing their 2028 prospects being flushed and just want power instead of coalescing around the logical replacement path.
Never mind all the downstream effects of breaking completely from the administration: all the choices made may be viewed through a lens of political failure. Goodbye progressive policy dreams and say hello to new neoliberal policy making.Yeah, any kind of open convention or whatever is the absolute WORST case possible. They will lose a ton of african american support and crater their #s.

Ideal sequence of events from here:
1) Biden withdraws and releases his delegates, implores them to support Harris.
2) Biden publicly endorses Harris and so do the D leaders (negotiated as a condition of his exiting the race).
3) Coordinated arm twisting of donors, delegates, and all relevant 2028 hopefuls to back Harris.
4) DNC reschedules the virtual roll call vote and nominates Harris before the convention.
5) Hold convention and nominate appropriate VP selection (Shapiro, Cooper, or Beshear).
I think the ideal play would be to load Biden up with Ritalin and/or Adderall before going out in public for the next 6 months.Ideal sequence of events from here:

Yeah it has to be Harris. 14 million of us voted for her in the primary too.Ideal sequence of events from here:

Well, Biden has some new powers at his disposal which include the ability to assassinate any Dem putting their own designs on 2028 or whatever over this election.Bit of Devil's advocate here:
So each of those 5 steps is actually multiple steps ... and there are numerous behind the scenes "sub-tasks" that go along with each. That's a ton of moving parts and things that have to fall in line just to get back to "we might be in a marginally better polling place except for a few key demos in swing states". All from a party apparatus that is more likely to step on its own proverbial dick than to thread the needle.
BTW, I think #3 is going to be almost impossible. Too many interest groups to satisfy, too many agendas, too many egos, and too many political animals waiting in the wings that want their shortcut shot.

Harris? Too liberal? What absolute clown says that? She's a fucking authoritarian through and through. One of the major criticisms of Harris is that she's "too liberal" which means she's going to have to tack hard to the center and lean on stuff like her credibility as a prosecutor if she is elevated to the top of the ticket. This bothers me not at all because you don't get to make policy if you don't win the fucking election in the first place. Most of the progressives in congress do understand that as well.

Yes. I certainly understand this part. I'm just worried about the morons that keep advocating for a complete break without understanding the long-term ramifications. One of the major criticisms of Harris is that she's "too liberal" which means she's going to have to tack hard to the center and lean on stuff like her credibility as a prosecutor if she is elevated to the top of the ticket. On a related note, Kamala Harris fits into a funny space politically - to the center, she's too liberal (partly due to her very progressive voting record and also likely viewed this way because it's a more politically correct way to not like a successful black woman), but to the far left who is too online, she's "a cop" (though, anyone to the right of Stalin seems to be Hitler in their eyes).
You should just become a doctor for the old and going senile - because you could make a shit ton of money if this prescription regiment works - it's the cure everyone is looking for but here it has been in front of our eyes this whole time! Why are you on this board doctor? You could be a billionaire and making hundreds of millions and helping old people get new lives!I think the ideal play would be to load Biden up with Ritalin and/or Adderall before going out in public for the next 6 months.
Thanks, I have some suggestions on how to remove sticks from asses if you're interested. You should just become a doctor for the old and going senile - because you could make a shit ton of money if this prescription regiment works - it's the cure everyone is looking for but here it has been in front of our eyes this whole time! Fantastic. I have a prescription for that already - it says 'live in a world with less stupid people'Thanks, I have some suggestions on how to remove sticks from asses if you're interested.
Double the dosage immediately.Fantastic. I have a prescription for that already - it says 'live in a world with less stupid people'
Working on it.
Lol it was first the confederates that wanted to tear down the country. Recently MAGA. Currently Dems!!!!!! Makes me wonder if these bedwetters are undercover Repugnicans?
Like let Biden win re-election. Big deal if given option to vote in Harris now or let her succeed Biden in term, it’s the same thing.
Sorry I should have quoted, but the link to not pick Harris either. Like truly lemmings they want to beLol. Is Pelosi an undercover R? She's maneuvering to get him out because she thinks he cannot win and that he'll be a drag down ballot. I think she is more likely than not correct.
You also voted for Harris. There were two names on that ticket.Supposedly the scenario is becoming more real and not a joke but I can't believe I'm saying this but I'll be super pissed if they remove Biden.
I'm just tired of democracy not being respected! Like me and the wife talked about it.. we both voted for Biden in the primary.
Now the DNC ripped up the choice of the people twice in 8 years?? - first on a technicality of superdelegates, and now this?!?!?!
Fuck that.. I might actually just write in Joe Biden. And I'll be done with the dems.
