Given Trump will be the first convicted felon to hold the office of the presidency should he win, and given every single sordid, criminal, immoral, unethical, un-Christian, anti-democratic, traitorous, treasonous and inhumane things he's said and done, the Gods of Logic and Common Sense are screaming out to the cosmos "why is he still being hailed by the Republican party faithful to be the best president to ever hold the office again." And why is it the he still has even a smidgin of a chance to rule America as his own personal property when that's exactly what he's been saying he'll do.
He and his acolytes say with conviction that he and they will Make America Great Again when his greatest accomplishment while in office was to divide America's peoples like no one else ever could, along with flim-flaming his way through his term with lies piled on top of more lies and more lies on top of that, alienate our NATO allies, persuade the party faithful to believe in Putin over our own intelligence and security agencies and among a host of other disqualifying factors, make all of it appear as though it's simply not anything that should hurt his chances to become The Orange King Kong of America.
What sort of madness has transformed the Party of Personal Responsibility, Family Values and Fiscal Conservancy into The Party of Trump where he can do no wrong while doing every single fuck'in thing wrong when handed the job and the accountability that goes with it? Well there's no accountability to be had if you ask any conservative off the street and even when he has been held accountable, his party faithful don't like it so they make shit up about Trump being railroaded, being set up, being treated unfairly, being witch hunted and wad'da ya know, *poof* there goes his numerous acts of criminal malfeasance out the window as if all of it never happened.
This is the spell that Trump has cast over his cult. As he realized aloud back then that “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn't lose any voters, okay?”, he knew he had stumbled onto something that would carry him to victory as he also realized how he could lie with reckless abandon and have those lies turned into golden nuggets of truth so long as those lies were sweet nothings whispered into the ears of those that craved to hear them. Insanity personified in a habitual liar and con artist. Who knew one huckster of a man could fool so many millions of people.
