The OWS movement accomplished plenty.

It showed us how out of control alot of police officers are.

It showed us the clear devision in our society.

It showed us that partisian idiots such as yourself will put people down who protest and yet you likely blame obama for everything since he's a democrat.

That's one of the biggest things I"ve seen. Alot of anti OWS people are also anti obama. So, they're really just confused. In many aspects they're anti government.. but they're anti government because there's a democrat in the white house. Alot of OWS people are anti government in general because they can see through the BS that is lobbying and see that Bush and Obama have done the same stuff.

um, I am Canadian and I don't care about Obama or any other US president.

I am neither right nor left

Those protesters were mostly college kids because it was the cause du jour. They don't represent anyone but themselves.

OWS didn't accomplish anything. Name one thing they accomplished.

OWS is only interested in stealing other peoples wealth so they won't be poor. They should instead stop doing drugs, get an education and become productive members of society. Instead, they would rather believe leftist propaganda that removes all personal responsibility for their current situation. Its like one big conspiracy theory with OWS supporters. Everything is the fault of the rich. We are the 99%. You are not the 99%. In fact OWS represents less than 3%. After a while OWS will blame the upper class and then the middle class. Blame anyone who is better off than they are. The homeless are the ones who deserve better than what OWS delivers.

"showed us a clear division in our society". Yes, the division between those who work to better themselves and become wealthy and those that believe that they are entitled to be handed everything because they don't want to work.

Its time for OWS to grow up and take responsibility.

OWS is pissing off people like you, the rich and the righties.

Mission Accomplished

I am not rich or a righty.

I just can't stand stupid idiots who think capitalism is bad and communism/socialism is good.

The cold weather happened. These people's convictions are only as strong as their comfort.

After all, we know that in order to protest an inequality you have to suffer.

They're protesting outside of my building today. It's laughable. Just a bunch of highschool kids and manbabies. Each as clueless as the next.

It helps to have the time available to you to do these things. Judging simply on age is a little draconian.

If you believe strongly enough in something, a little cold weather should not dissuade you. Just goes to show that the protestors are just in it for attention whoring, not the cause.

The were all ages but mentally they are all at the high school level. No wonder they can't get a job.

spidey07, if they were really trying to go after the banksters I'd probably applaud them. But they're ineffective and not doing shit except bitching to the same people who created and allowed the mess to happen to create another situation where they can be exploited.

More proof of Obama's socialist ties.

From the article:

Conservative critics of the Obama administration have noted numerous ties to radicalism and socialists throughout Mr. Obama's history, from his first political campaign being launched from the living room of two former Weather Underground members, to appointing as green jobs czar Van Jones, a self-described communist.

Loliberals........constsantly frustrated and angry. If only the rest of us could just accept their gospel they wouldn't have to blow shit up and promote terror in the name of "fairness".

Stay classy lefties!

Thats the problem with liberals, they make up stuff and present it as facts

There are posters on this board, mysel included, that vividly remember having to participate in this communist sharade; your dad's view is hardly unique.

Of course his experience was not unique, did not imply that. My point was that the May Day holiday will have a much different meaning to people who grew up under communism, than those of us who grew up in the US.

Tell me again this isn't a far left/communist "movement" again? May Day and it's history is deeply rooted in communism. Will there be more marxist violence in Oakland again? Will we get to see worthless folks getting pepper sprayed while we, the hard working tax paying American, roll our eyes in disgust?

One thing for sure, you'll see nothing but the far left fringe in these protests just like the last time. Shutting down commerce, destroying private property, a call for their "fair share" of OUR money. That we even have people that think like this in our country gets a big "down twinkles" from me.

if you disallow the occupy movement then you shouldn't allow the tea party movement. It's just left v right. If you support your own party that is fine but let's not be so biased here. It's far right fringe movement v far left fringe movement, don't see no difference here. So just let others have their moment on TV.

That reminds me of the original Occupy thread where someone (McOwned or Ausm IIRC) said there was going to be Marines training OWS on cold weather survival and other assorted bullshit. LOL.

Apparently the Marine training consisted of "go the fuck inside."

It's just like the tea party!

NOT. Occupy has been proven to be extremely violent, going so far as to attempt to blow up a bridge.

Windows smashed as protests wind through Downtown Seattle

Many streets and at least one plaza in Seattle are filled with idiots, the police have a lot on their hands right now. Apparently there is supposed to be a larger, more organized march tonight. News just showed cars with the windows smashed, and a bunch of businesses with all the windows broken. And there are many anarchy signs spray painted on windows and walls too.

Stay classy OWS.

But the discomfort the protesters endure does not weigh on the message they bear. What is more important is the discomfort they have felt than makes them protest in the first place.

Also, what good is it protesting when most people will not see/hear you because they are in a rush to get out of the cold?

The were all ages but mentally they are all at the high school level. No wonder they can't get a job.

That was just stupid. You sound like a 1950's cliche.

I see the union picket lines all year 'round. Cold weather does not stop them for fighting for their cause. We didn't hear a peep from OWS all winter. Now watch, as it gets warmer out they'll be out in spades. Comfort first, the cause second.
