He wasn't being an ISIS apologist. He pointed out that people do horrible, horrible things while using the name of religion.

BTW at the same time some Christians were trying to abolish slavery other Christians were using the bible to justify the trade.

Then why do you think Obama would bring up crap other people have done in the name of religion? If he wasn't apologizing for or trying to lessen the impact of what ISIS did, then it has absolutely no business being in his speech.

Maybe he was attempting to remind Christians who like to paint with a broad brush that at times throughout history their religion was wrapped around an abhorrent cause that not all Christians subscribed to?

I should have got into the biz of selling fainting couches when Obama first took office.

Actually the President said the same thing I did, he just didn't dumb it down to the first grade level like I did. The President has a higher expectation of the intelligence level of conservatives than I have come to realize exists. He doesn't realize that conservatives are the dumbest fucking thing on this planet and that in order to reach them you have to treat them like seriously developmentally disabled children.
