Obama's new mansion (beach side, looks barely above sea level)

you sure seem fascinated with the post-presidential life of real leaders. Guess the self-hate needs a break every once in a while.

and lol @ the absolute trash shit that you read, dumbass.

I think it's symptomatic of something though. Conservatives like Spyder seem to regard reality as merely a side-issue, entirely eclippsed by the need to pursue their peculiar resentment-driven agenda against those they consider a cultural or racial enemy. So they are unable to even grasp the scientific reality of climate change, instead just seeing it as another tool in their war on their perceived enemies. As if Obama and Gore and whatever other celeb they have come to associate with the topic, are somehow central figures in climate science.

Their resentment is overpowering, and overrides any capacity for rational thought or to be aware of the world they are living in. Why are conservaties so driven by emotion?

And this matters because....?

You seem obsessed with celebrity trivia.

I'm all for Obama doing this. He's made responsible decisions and put effort into achieving, this is something anyone in America can do regardless of race, skin color, sex, religion, etc. Him and Michelle have done it all and I don't blame them for enjoying the fruits of their labor, kicking back with their money and living a great life. Good for them, I love it and see this as a story of how anyone in America can achieve if they try. That being said, for such a prominent Democrat to buy ocean front property it just shows how hollow and unfounded so many of their FUD claims about the climate are and makes the left look hypocritical. Par for the course, really.

Human-instigated climate change is real and is a problem. You can accept a broad, well-established scientific consensus on this, or you can be a fool.

I'm not sure why they bought oceanside property, but this says jack shit about the realities of climate change. Besides, you really aren't in a position to complain about uses of property given Trump's rampant corruption.

I accept that we do have the ability to harm our environment, cause damage to our ecosystem. I believe human made pollutants can and do cause changes to our climate. Where I disagree, and think even the scientists leave the science behind and instead get into they fortune telling arena is the doom and gloom predicted. Banning straws, plastic bottles is lol-worty feel good do nothing nonsense. As long as our population is increasing at an exponential none of that matters. But, Obama buying ocean front property sure makes it obvious that even prominent lefties aren't too concerned withe the FUD they keep preaching.

Sustainability, carbon neutrality and climate change are not relevant to their purchase. It is interesting that they bought an estate on white privilege island.

So you don't accept science, then.

I don't think you understand how science works. You don't get to choose which rigorously established scientific models you believe in. The science that determined humanity's current effect on the planet also outlines how it will almost certainly play out in the future. Politicians may hype up the effects, but peer-reviewed scientists don't as a rule.

And I'm sorry, but just because the population is growing quickly doesn't mean you do nothing. We should be doing everything we can to minimize emissions and waste -- even if population growth partly negates that, we don't need to amplify the effect, do we? There's a giant garbage patch in the Pacific ocean caused by human waste, and it's only going to keep growing if we take an apathetic view like yours.

Not quite as much FUD as denying climate change yet using climate change as a rationale for obtaining a variance for your seaside golf club.

Oh noes, a black family is doing better and living in a nicer house than you.

Nice attempt to create racism where there was none before, par for the course for too many liberals today. I see Obama as an American success story, how anyone can achieve the greatest of heights in this country.

Uhh, our population is not increasing at an exponential rate. It's linear. Obama's house is more than 10' above sea level, as well, with worst case theoretical scenarios putting it under water by 2100.

But the storm surges, bruh! Al Gore suggested they could already be underwater in "An Inconvenient Truth." Luckily that all turned out to be false too.
Child, you still in denial about global warming? You are backwards even compared to Republicans. They have already moved on from denying it, to denying it's man made, and even to accepting it's man made but saying that there's nothing they can do. You need to start paying attention to the new talking points.

Barrack "There’s only so big a house you can have" Obama just bought a new house with Michelle. It is 7000 sq ft, seven bedrooms, 29 acres. Because, green new deal. Also interesting is how close it is to the ocean, how close to sea level it is. Guess he must be pretty sure the sea isn't rising very much any time soon.

Guess what Sparky? It's not going to flood for a few years, and before it can happen, Trump will be nothing but a sad skidmark on the underwear of America

The next President will be spending 100 days knocking down magical walls and shredding Executive Orders by Nero Trump.

Oh look another thread where the OP has to make sure people realize how much of a moron he can be. I'm just assuming that him and someonesmind are having a competition to see who can inject the most literal shit into their cranial cavities?

And this matters because....?

I do find it funny how often the OP bleats like a sheep getting its testicles removed that supposedly liberals are so enamored with celebrities while defending Republicans who put Ronald Reagan and Turmp in the White House.

Looks like fake news to me. Every link refers back to the TMZ article. Don't see where the purchase has been completed. Lot's of unfounded speculation. Link in article is dated September 2017. IMO Obamas wouldn't buy a property like this. Snopes needs to jump on this one...

Obama May Purchase Sea-Level Property on Martha’s Vineyard

Oh wait, I found this pic. It must be true. 😛

Can you explain your logic here?
He's an idiot that's his problem. I think he's suggesting that if Obama really believed in climate change, why would he invest in a property that could be directly affected by climate change in the next.. century.

He is completely ignoring that fact that Obama may not care if this property isn't standing in 50, 100 years. Or perhaps Obama plans to make structural changes over time. Or maybe he only wants to live there for the next 10 year and then move on.

As usual, conservative "logic" is superficial at best. They deal in extremes of black and white.
