No, but I can imagine how it could look like that while dizzying yourself by dancing around the fact that neither Amused or anyone else has provided proof to back his argument.

You know a guy's doing alright when people have to grasp at crap like this to criticize him.

Well Amused is a smart guy and he probably realized his error but he's also stubborn and probably won't admit it, at least as long as I've known him he's never admitted he was wrong when he was.

Amused usually makes logical arguments, which is why this POS post is so suprising.

On one hand we have the president advocating for smart meters so we know how much energy we're using, and saying to not keep the temp at 72 degrees at all times. On the other hand, we have Obama making it warm enough so he doesn't need a jacket when he's working in one room of the white house. Somehow this is hypocritical.

Ridiculous thread.

You mean like the statements we hear constantly about how it's great that the Democratic legislatures are enacting rules to shut out Republican descent because it's giving the Republicans a taste of their own medicine from the last 8 years?

yeh he is doing alright so far... closing gitmo with no forethought as to where to put unwanted prisoners, appointing a tax cheat to oversee the IRS, $860B stimulus which will give tax money to illegals and groups like ACORN.

This issue is very minor, but I do find all this bickering about the oval office temperature amusing.

I've admitted I'm wrong plenty of times. Usually with the phrase "my bad" or "oops."

The problem is, Red, I've not been wrong when debating you. Sorry.

I'm not wrong here. His advocating Smart Meters is all over the web. It's there for anyone to see. And with the history of smart meters, they end up being used for rationing. The information doesn't only go one way.

You may poo-poo the link I gave on this, but she documents everything she says with valid links. Sooooo, instead of using the old fallacious argument of poisoning the wells, why not actually address the points made in that link?

OOPS!!! Nope, it's easier just to brand her as a right wingnut and not have to debate the points, right?

And yes, his telling us all we have to suffer with uncomfortable temps in our homes and offices while heating his to what's comfortable for him IS hypocritical no matter how you look at it. HE isn't willing to sacrifice a damn thing, why should we?

So, uh, Amused? I hate to interrupt your endless ranting, but did you manage to figure out what temperature Obama had "cranked" the thermostat up to yet?

What you mean is that you are not wrong in your own mind assuming the various data you take as a given is valid in reality or have any real internal correlation or relationship. And what you've done is just brand Obama as a hypocrite and not debate the points really bothering you either.

It strikes me that you have a sore toe, an emotional reaction to smart meters probably generated by some libertarian inculcated fantasy that the government is your enemy and is out to control your life, a psychopathology we pick up from being controlled and destroyed as children and that we later project out in the world, so that from there, having that sore toe always out there exposed to the aisle of world waiting to be stepped on, Obama came along and said something about being cold. Bamb, he just stepped on your toe, and like any good player piano, your scripted reactions began to play and that big finger of Daddy's or Mommy's condemnation came out. Shame shame on you President Obama, you hypocrite. You want to be warm and you want me to be cold.

And in this way you expose yourself as an irrational fool and self centered egotist that wise and less brainwashed folk like me can see hiding in your post. Your reaction, of course, was upside down and completely wrong. Instead of wanting to turn up your heat like he did, you should have written him and told him that in the interest of saving the nation and consistency of message, he should turn his down.

So what was the temp and where does it say he keeps it at 72 degrees for 24 hrs a day?

Lighten up dick, it's an internet message board. My point is valid. Conservatives have had to deal with petty criticisms of GWB over the past 8 years, now liberals are going to have to deal with petty criticisms of Obama. This is what happens in P&N, deal with it or GTFO.

QFT. Just be happy that Obama isn't an epic disaster like GWB at this time (of course, GWB seemed to deteriorate over time, probably due to the ghouls he surrounded himself with). Honestly, I think GWB's administration was more a reflection of the men around him than anything else, he would have done a million times better with a more honorable, non-PNAC supporting cast.

Its petty to force a large group of people to do something and then for you yourself to do something else?

By your logic its ok for execs to get billions in bonuses even though their companies are failing too I suppose?
