So, she can continue to LIE through her teeth and use her "celebrity" to influence others. She can still influence the simple-minded and the confused. She is one of the most popular figures in the Republican party. This grasping, lying woman has a malformed conscience. She'll say anything to keep the spotlight on herself. Palin is so secure that her extended family will take care of her life long dependent child, she doesn't give a damn for others who may not be so lucky, so she lies and lies.

I hope Trig never loses coverage. Palin better hope so too; given the sorts of cardiopulmonary problems which many Down Syndrome people are prone to, I doubt many private insurers will be beating a path to cover him.

If only Sarah Palin could actually experience what the average person in her position -special needs child with expensive medical needs - experiences, she'd be singing a different tune. That is what's truly disgusting about her comments, not the all-too-predictable hypocrisy.

Palin uses her son as a prop again. The woman really has no shame. She's a media whore who never missed the opportunity to throw her family up for political points while perpetally casting herself as the victim. Now we get this bullshit about a "death panel". If anything her son would get care he would otherwise be denied under our present system to poor parents with children who have pre-existing conditions.

They're fabricating horrible lies with absolutely no support, and getting away with it. TO A HUGE AUDIENCE who absolutly LOVES her. Pathetic. I'm curious - if she really think she's going to stand before God one of these days, isn't she slightly uncomfortable about all the times she's borne false witness?

I'm guessing she's fuming today about how the media is refusing to leave her son alone, dragging him into the health care debate like this. The media whore wants to still be a media whore, she deserves what she gets. I will ignore her when she goes away and stays away.

Somebody has to make death (stop treatment) decisions, the hospital/doctor never will. I personally would rather have an evil corporation (that the company I work for has a relationship with and is a customer of) than the government make those decisions.

I mean a UHC plan should have FORCED her to abort, once they knew the baby had Down's.
If she decided to have the baby anyhow, she can't really expect the UHC to pay for its medical costs, since she shouldn't have had it to begin with.

This is so very true.

My maternal parental unit had a simple one-paragraph DNR with which both the hospital and oncologist would not comply.

For my Pop's living will and health care POA you'd have to bring that thing in with a handtruck. We sat down with him and outlined every treatment, medicine, procedure, physical state and level of care that we could find. Researched each and everything and talked about as a family over 4 months. Kept it updated over time.

It was difficult, but 7 years later it helped greatly as the kids 'parented' him to his death.
