Obama's "Death Panel"

oh,my,oh gosh, look at that there....

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we?re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama?s ?death panel? so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ?level of productivity in society,? whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president?s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, ?Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we?ll ever see on this earth.? Let?s stop and think and make our voices heard before it?s too late.

- Sarah Palin

Well, folks, it don't get any better than that... The one time VP showing more of that "folksy" insight - of course she forgot that she could have lost that baby by waiting and making the trip back to Alaska to give birth.....

I just don't get the liberal obsession with Sarah Palin... if I knew this thread was about her, I wouldn't have bothered clicking on it.

she's some lady who ran for a ceremonial office, lost, and will never hold another public office again in her life. why do you guys hang on her every word with baited breath?

Because it drives a burr under like minded saddles...

Didn't you once say that you thought she'd be worthy to run the country, should McCain be unable to?

Never hold office again? I wouldn't be so sure. Don't ever underestimate the collective stupidity of the American electorate. We "elected" Bush twice, after all.

And just what ceremonial office are you talking about? The one that elevated Theodore Roosevelt to the Presidency? THAT one?

Or is it the one which put the decision to use the atomic bomb in the hands of an ex-haberdasher and machine pol from Missouri? Oh, wait, that's the same "ceremonial" office as the one above!

Anyway, here's the deal: When she shuts up, we will, k?

Well technically once since the first time he didn't actually win.

I just don't get the liberal obsession with Sarah Palin...

Really no obsession. Its just she is "too easy", and keeps on asking for it.
And can you imagine, Mccain wanted this .... person... to be a heart beat away from the big office... Scary.

And there you have it... the best man "DID" win the last election.
(thank God... we got it right... this time...)

Finally we can live like the rest of the animals, and stop wasting tax payer dollars on keeping the weak alive.

But seriously, what does the right wing have against intellectual discourse from their politicians. Come on guys I know you the party are not stupid, but some of your candidates make me shake my head.

Yup, two terms for Clinton and now this disaster that is in office...spot on Perk

Do we really want the government in charge of our death panels? It could take weeks, or months before they get around to killing you. Perhaps a constitutional ammendment that reserves the right to form death panels exclusively for America's private citizens? Such a plan would certainly make slack-jawed yokelism rarer among the political class.

Interesting. So Sarah Palin is saying that if the Government won't give her baby free health care, she'll let him die rather than buy him some herself. She won't be able to, since the bloated, inefficient gummint (which can't deliver the mail / cure the common cold / fix the potholes) will have driven all the super-efficient and oh-so-benevolent private health insurers out of business. Leaving her baby and your gramma at the mercy of the death panels.

At what level of government do you get a death panel I want a death panel. It's not so much that President Obama would create death panels, as he would be nationalizing the existing death panels, right?. I wonder what it would take to get on the death panel. I bet the uniforms are badass!

I would not be surprised to see Palin in the oval office Jan 20 2013

Tom Dachle proposed a "Federal Health Board" that would "make tough decisions" and set "evidence-based standards for benefits and quality for federal programs and insurance". The foundations of the FHB were slipped into the "stimulus" undebated. George Will wrote about last winter

"The stimulus legislation would create a council for Comparative Effectiveness Research. This is about medicine but not about healing the economy. The CER would identify (this is language from the draft report on the legislation) medical "items, procedures, and interventions" that it deems insufficiently effective or excessively expensive. They "will no longer be prescribed" by federal health programs. The next secretary of health and human services, Tom Daschle, has advocated a "Federal Health Board" similar to the CER, whose recommendations "would have teeth": Congress could restrict the tax exclusion for private health insurance to "insurance that complies with the Board's recommendation." The CER, which would dramatically advance government control -- and rationing -- of health care, should be thoroughly debated, not stealthily created in the name of "stimulus."

that would be the ones they got right... Stupid would be the brain dead yahoo's that voted for Bush twice, especially the 2nd time... And then still don't have the presence of mind to realize that he was the worst president in modern history.

that is why the left keeps bringing up Palin - she is just like Bush - not too smart and ruled by her primitive religious beliefs. She is a constant reminder of how Bush screwed us, and is the best thing to happen to the left in recent years... As long as she is in the spotlight, being idiotic, the religious right reps will not have power.

So, for that, we all owe her our gratitude. Thanks miss lady!

But she is HOT, have to vote for her.

I finally figured what's wrong with her. The continual punishment from the recoil of her moose gun has given her the equivalent of shaken baby syndrome
