Nothing ever came of that. Do you know why? Because it was a political witch hunt and Oliver North took the blame. Reagan himself made a televised speech and apolized for the imbroglio which was more than any other president would have done given the circumstances. But all his detractors will do is point out his weaknesses and ignore his strengths to deny him the credit he is due. No other president in recent times has been more respected and revered, for good reason. But you keep detracting if it floats your boat.

He doesn't deserve it, but that has always been the flakiest Nobel prize.

I thought this was joke thread, but looks like it is not.... my prediction is that Obama wont accept this award, even himself would recognize it to be such a joke, it would infuriate and create controversy around the global. It would also be a slap in the face to all other Nobel price winners. Just look at recent Nobel Physics Price winner, Charles K. Kao, it took the science community almost half a century to validate his breakthrough in fiber optics is beneficial to all mankind. Nevertheless, Nobel Peace price has become such a joke now, it should just die, there is no point in it, i think many potential candidates would even refuse to accept the reward cause it would only shame them.

Nope, he accepts it and calls winning "a call to action". Basically a call to action to do the bidding of other nations against our own best interests. This is fucked up.
