Re read it again, I never stated it wasn't Muslims v Muslims. Which is why I said the president should take the opportunity to make it look like our response is a humanitarian one and one that values all Muslim lives, not just ones that agree with us or about the ones that don't agree with us.

I'll ask you again, why do "they" hate us?

Because an Imam visited us about 90 years ago and condemned our lifestyle.

Quadruple sig worthy.....

Great, the only time we can get the idiots in DC to agree on something is when they're on the wrong side of it.

Previously Obama couldn't even get Congress to agree that water was wet. It's so touching that they can all join hands to agree to blow shit up.

And spy on citizens. Don't forget about the spying on citizens with the occasional TSA molestation thrown in for good measure

After that, we can even help them rebuild their country by throwing tons of money at them. I'm sure none if will end up in the hands of the Western-hating extremists.

Given our past history where arming people has bitten us in the ass I don't understand why there is not more discussion about the rebels groups and which ones are going to be armed with what. Whenever some politician discusses it its always 'Why haven't we armed the rebels?" "When are we going to arm the rebels?" "We need to arm the rebels!"

So...uh...guys....can we talk about not arming the Muslim Brotherhood or the ANF. What about the Communist groups? We used to think they were scary. It almost like they are using this to have a group to treat as a threat in the future. "Look how well armed they are! *points to picture of Arab 'terrorist' with an M-16 we gave him* We need to attack them!"

McCain during congressional meetings about going to war playing poker.

What a fucking clown. Time to put the old fart in the nursing home.

*Sigh* As much as it pains me to defend his actions I can somewhat understand getting bored as the pompous windbags drone on and on and on and on....

He is still a clown and needs to go home and stay there

Ah, I see. When Obama became for it, they became against it. Just like.....pretty much everything else.

most of us libertarians have always been against military action regardless of who's in charge. i also seem to remember a republican candidate (ron paul) who ran on ending our military adventurism. I don't recall seeing any democrats who campaigned to end wars recently.

Lol. The Syrian conflict is Muslims against Muslims, and that's not very common at all. By making this a "save all Muslims" as opposed to save only those that we think will be pro US. It allows us to take a position without taking a side.

But I see thats too deep for you to understand so dont worry about it.

I remember when a spokesman came out and announced "the war for the liberation of Iraq had begun. Ah memories.

It's good to see the Libertarians in this thread standing up to the Republican base with which they are normally associated.

I'm still waiting for the anti-war left to call out obama over this. They were outraged when bush did it but seem to be fine with obama.

Some obama supporters really are blind and ignorant and will support him all the time, how many of these idiots would support the strike if it was bush?

Anyone who thinks the US should attack Syria needs their head examined. The rebels are backed by al-qaida and will be even worse than Assad and have Islamic law. The rebels/terrorists were the ones who used the chemical weapons.

Just because both sides are a-holes (and they certainly are) doesn't mean they should be allowed to do whatever they want to each other. If chemical weapons are ok, how about bioweapons? Nukes? Is there a line?

Also, is there a non-crackpot source that the rebels used chemicals on themselves? (BBC etc.)

Disrupting the Syria hearing. Why do you ask?

syria-uk-2-cropped-proto-custom_24.jpg

I'm trying to figure out what a photo of a protest that appears to be in the UK has to do with an American anti-war group.

According to reports I'm seeing Code Pink is acting, but I'm not sure what the photo has to do with it.

It was a photo from an article about their disruption of the Senate protests. It's probably a stock photo, but that changes nothing about the actual facts of the case.

And here's a photo of why we went to war with Iraq.

You're constantly harping on others about semantics, try being accurate yourself.

Facts? You want to talk about facts? I found the article where you got that photo. There is nothing in that article regarding Code Pink and nothing about their disruption of Kerry's speech...which is quite understandable since the Code Pink protest occurred several days after the date of the article.

Yes, I want to talk about facts. Did Code Pink disrupt the Senate hearing or not?

What's strange to me is that you didn't appear to bother checking yourself before asking.

I'm not disputing that. I'm taking issue with your gross misrepresentation of a photo taken in London and your statement saying it was a "photo from an article about their disruption of the Senate protests".
