1. Apply for citizenship.
2. Go back to Mexico.

Except for the other loophole in the system, babies born here are American citizens regardless of the status of the parent.

Why is this a big deal ?
In my county there are many farms. The majority of these are worked by migrant labor. I have no qualm with that, if they want to work and the farmers want to pay them, fine by me. They spend money locally and that helps everyone.

The problem is that they don't come here alone. They bring their wives and families and have learned a new trick that has caused my counties social services departments to become overwhelmed to the point that my cousin who is the manager here is frustrated beyond words.

The trick they have learned is that if a woman comes here with 1, or 2 or 10 children under 18 and has a baby here, the baby is now a natural born citizen with full rights. The mother can then go to welfare and not only get the new born covered but every other child and herself regardless of her prior status. She now gets food, housing, medical, school, everything without paying a cent in taxes or anything else. The government can't send the mother away and the baby is a US citizen so they can't take it either because it has rights. So the whole family stays for free and lives off taxpayers.

The way Mexicans are being treated by these corporations is sickening. Insanely long hours and extremely low pay. These corporations see them as just objects with no rights. Forcing them to become citizens would not only provide these immigrants with rights, but also force their employers to pay them minimum wage. If said immigrant wishes to not go through the citizenship process, then they will be severely limited in job opportunities (how many gardeners/maids can there really be?). Thus, the reason I said their other choice would be to return home.

If I decided to move to a different country and work as a legal citizen in that country, I would have no problem applying for citizenship in said country.

I have no problem with immigration, just as long as those immigrating follow the correct legal steps to gain citizenship.

When I was in the Navy we had a quite a few Mexicans. Apparently its a fast-track to citizenship or something. I'm sure theres plenty more Mexicans who couldnt serve but would be willing to do something to prove themselves.
BUT, I want them to fucking learn English. Getting tired of all these assholes coming over, not speaking the language, not paying taxes, and using emergency rooms like doctors offices & raising my healthcare costs cuz they cant pay.

The Republicans controlled the Senate, House, and White House for a long time. They could have done something then and chose not to. Now they are gone, or not in power. So now its up to the Democrats to do SOMETHING, anything about illegals. Since we know damn well they wont be kicking them out, the best we can hope for is a fair and equitable solution that also lets all those illegals pay taxes (eventually).
