Guaranteeing my future children health insurance regardless of any medical condition they may be born with is a great thing as well as the other regulations he is imposing on health insurance middle men, I mean companies.

He cut my taxes with the stimulus, and I am seeing a lot of great road work improvements everywhere in my community. He is working on cutting the "waste, fraud and abuse" in Medicare as well as the DoD. The bailout is turning a profit and the American economy is recovering albeit slowly.

I don't think this DRAMATIC level of anti-Obama is warranted in the least.

My 2 cents.

Next, he should guarantee everyone gets 1 million dollars. That'll be an even greater thing.

The republicans didn't respond to the "will of the people" who voted for a huge majority in congress and for president in 08. They stood and forced things to a standstill as the country struggled to recover from a recession, all the while pointing the fingers at those in charge. It got them the political capital they needed to take the house. Of course, touting they now have a mandate will make them accountable in the eyes of those same gullible people, even though the Ds still control the senate and the WH.

he NEEDS to come out and say "we heard you" and promise to take the Dems in a better direction. a direction the people want and not what he thinks is right.

Just as we saw last week, what happens in 2012 will depend far more on the economy than anything the Democrats or Republicans do for the next two years. Spidey's delusional hatred notwithstanding, this election was not a mandate for the right or against the left.

Almost every mid-term election sees gains by the party not in the White House. Even more, the majority party inevitably gets smacked during economic downturns. Given that this is the worst economy since the Great Depression, it's really not a big surprise the majority Democrats took the biggest beating seen since those days.

Are Americans unhappy with Democrats? Hell yes. They're afraid of losing their jobs, their homes, their way of life. The Dems didn't wave a magic wand and make it all better, so they're bearing the brunt of Americans' fears. Polls show Americans aren't really much happier with Republicans, however, with the Republican Congress rated even lower than Dems last time I checked. The simple fact is Americans are unhappy with Washington and politics in general. In that climate, incumbents take a beating.

I agree totally. My point was the republicans didn't agree there was a "will of the people" after the Ds took both houses in congress and the WH. They fought against the "will of the people" by fighting against those that were strongly put into place by the people.

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with the Rs fighting the Ds. Those that did get elected were there to do so. If Obama wasn't so impotent he could have wielded his majority to get stuff done, with or without the Rs.

LOL, yeah totally a valid parallel. Every other country in the modernized western world can figure out how to provide top tier healthcare to their citizens but us and it is almost criminal.

Going to the ER for a ruptured appendix shouldn't bankrupt us nor should having to figure out if we can eat this month or pay our healthcare premiums.

My PPO going up 15-25% each year is working out brilliantly!

Don't equate essential healthcare with giving everyone in the U.S.A. a free plasma tv.

Last I checked, they fought for the health care bill not going through - they didn't need to and should not have been bending to the people there. I have read to many of your statements like this in these forums and I always wonder what kind of road you have traveled. If we stop caring for our fellow man where does that leave us as a people or as a country.

Pres Obama needs some life altering event to take place to wake him up.
He follows the book and has trouble with theory vs reality.
He rationalizes everything with his reason, when often reason has nothing to do with it.
And by now after all this time, it looks like he still has his head stuck in the book.
He will never succeed with getting his message across and getting people to fall in line behind him. And at this point I doubt he is re elected in 2012. Especially if the republicans can come up with a good candidate. And I don't mean Palin or Romney.

Young people helped get Obama elected in 2008. After Nov 2 2010, it looks like they have gone offline again, as is their normal. Electing the first black president was history making and people wanted to see and be part of that history.
In 2012 Obama will just be someone running for re election. No Novelty. No history making. Jimmy Carter knows well how that works.
