I agree totally. My point was the republicans didn't agree there was a "will of the people" after the Ds took both houses in congress and the WH. They fought against the "will of the people" by fighting against those that were strongly put into place by the people.
There was a "will of the people" after the 2008 election, but it was the Democrats who misread that 'will.'

The American people did not vote Obama into place because they wanted Obamacare or cap and trade or "green" jobs.

The only issue that really mattered in 2008 was the economy. Republicans were kicked out of office because they did a bad job running the economy. The American people wanted the economy fixed and wanted the jobs to come back.

Obama however all but ignored the economy and the lack of jobs and instead went out on a Democrat wish list of grand ideas such as Obamacare. On top of that he went nuts with new spending.

So the American people kicked Obama and the Democrats out of office in hopes that the Republicans would do more about the economy or at the least act as a balance against the Democrats and their spending and ideas.

All the young people did not come out in droves just for the Economy, they also came out for his other campaign promises such as healthcare reform. Healthcare reform had very positive popularity till things came out like "Death panels" and the such. Hell it still has positive numbers when its separated into the things it provides. Its just when its the big "Obamacare" socialized heathcare that people respond negatively to it.

Same. But we need to pay very close attention to this president, his words, deeds and actions. Thankfully you can watch his verbal garbage between games. Pay attention and listen to him. The future of our nation is at stake.

If you were just advocating for people to care about those who lead them, then I'd applaud your civic mentality. Since it appears that you're looking for a super-villain... I feel provoked to tell you that you come off like a tool.

Take some time to reflect. Your rhetoric reeks of treating your opposition like an enemy.

LOL! When peoples premiums are going through the roof and the reason is obamacare people are paying attention to what this asshole does and the damage he creates to their own lives.

Never before has a president's policies affected people so personally, and it's almost all negative. The People are wide awake now.

I remember when Spidey was hanging out in OT talking about working on his MCSE. When does the transition from normal working American to complete psychopath happen?
It seems to correlate with the last presidential inauguration.

BS!

Healthcare was hardly a topic in 2008. Obama didn't even talk about a massive healthcare bill like Obamacare either.

According to CNN
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/issues/
Healthcare ranked the same as the War in Iraq and just above terrorism when it came to election issues.

Also, Republicans have been running around talking about repealing healthcare since the day it was passed. If people care so much about healthcare then why did they show up at the polls to keep Republicans from taking control and trashing the healthcare law they want so badly?

He was using a teleprompter or he has issues looking into the eyes of whoever interviewing him. He spent more time looking off to the side than looking at Steve Kroft during the interview.

Pay attention to what he says, watch how he says it. This is his chance to say "I heard you" to the American people. There have been snippets of his whining but now you get to see it and watch his body language, nose high in the air. Or possibly, head down, like a beaten dog begging for scraps.

Pay attention to the body language and his message. Watch this president, pay attention to him.

Will he say I heard you? Or will he keep on point of "we didn't sell the agenda well enough"?

CBS, ON NOW.

It's interesting how you sell him in a negative light before he even acts. If he sticks to his guns, he is arrogant but if he humbly accepts defeat he is a dog. I wonder how you would respond to 24/7 negative comments by others toward you. No matter what you do, everyone just spins it to make you look like a fool.

Bah, it doesn't matter. You are self-righteous and will never listen to criticism. You can do no wrong in your own mind just as Obama can do no right.

You didn't click the healthcare link above because if you had, you'd see that it had positive support for I quote "All in all, do you favor or oppose the U.S. governement guaranteeing health insurance for all citizens, even if it means raising taxes?"

57% approved, 36% opposed. Come again?

Also, Republicans have been running around talking about repealing healthcare since the day it was passed. If people care so much about healthcare then why did they show up at the polls to keep Republicans from taking control and trashing the healthcare law they want so badly?

I think I mentioned that above. Death panels and such caused people to look very poorly about it and Democrats handled the whole thing very poorly too. They rushed something that shouldn't have been rushed. Over all when given each piece by themselves a majority of the people approve of Obama care.

You are right, they are wide awake NOW because certainly over the last 10 years when healthcare has been increasing before Obama was even president, they seemed to have been asleep.

Guaranteeing my future children health insurance regardless of any medical condition they may be born with is a great thing as well as the other regulations he is imposing on health insurance middle men, I mean companies.

Get a job and enroll in health insurance can have the same effect.

You don't get it. We REJECT what that fucker is doing. What you fail to understand is that I listen to his every speech, every media appearence, everything. I know him very well, and I reject everything his is saying and doing.

Watch him, I'm watching him. Listen to him, I'm listening to him. Fail president. Utter failure.

"stay stuck in a new normal", OBAMA! This is because of YOU!!!

But dismiss me as you will, and say "oh, just right wing", We The People are paying very close attention to what this fucker is saying and doing.

I already pointed out to you that your "we the people" crap is bunk in another thread.

But hey, why let reality get in the way of gut feelings and myopic vision.

I think that rather than 55% of the people rejecting the Democrat agenda, it's 55% of the people rejecting the Democrat agenda more than the Republican agenda. This is the biggest political drubbing since the thirties, but it could well be followed in 2012 by an equally historic drubbing. Neither party is popular.

If both continue to suck then a true third party may emerge, something fiscally conservative and socially liberal that can pick off stragglers from both parties.

This is not rocket science. The economy is in the Shitter. People are either suffering or scared. There was a move against the incumbents. Period.

That and the Democrats are a bunch of spineless bought and paid for pussies who got what they deserved. Or it's made to look that way when they go into immediately go into back rooms with powers that finance them. Regardless, Rank and File sat it out and The Middle saw duplicity and weakness.

You got that right.

All it shows was that they are tossing incumbents out on their asses.

Which is the way it should be.

There should be term limits.

I don't agree with you often, but I agree with this statement 100%. It is less about supporting one party over the other and more about tossing those who made the recent decisions out.
