Doesn't it come with its own shroud? I was able to use the provided shroud when I put it on the Maxwell Titan X. The shroud says 980ti but that's fine with me.

Decided to see just how much more wattage the new Titan X cards were pulling at the wall compared to the 1080s. This was the first test in 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra.

When I saw the GTX 1080 my first thoughts were if the Hybrid coolers would work on it. Than Gamer Nexus showed that they could. I should have jumped at that moment to get a FE + Hybrid cooler. It seemed at the time EVGA EOL'd the 980 Ti version since it was going for $40 on their site while the 980 version (which is identical minus wording on the shroud) was still $100.

Welps, I said "I'll wait for Custom cards, surely they'll OC better." Boy do I got egg on my face. :/

Could have had a whisper quiet Hybrid GTX 1080 back in June for ~$740. Now I'm still waiting for EVGA to release the Hybrid for $730 almost 2 months later. :/

Yeah that sucks man, I thought I was being impulsive buying the FE but it turns out all those better capacitors and VRMs and extra power on the AIB cards doesn't really do anything to make the 1080 a better overclocker. 1080+ hybrid cooler was the way to do it this gen.

I'm pretty pleased with my OC, considering that afterburner does not allow additional voltage yet.

How much more can we expect when that comes? 3-5%?

AdamK47: Thank you for the wattage info of the twin TitanXs vs the twin GTX 1080s. 166 watts more is significant BUT the power gain is tremendous.
Hard to believe that 2 of the new Titans almost equal 4 of the older ones.
Thanks again for the info.

Curiously I checked what the hybrid kits are going for, >$100!? Hachimachi!

1080 FTW Hybrid just went on pre-order, I hopefully get one first shipment.

Next time I'm in the market I'm just buying a card. Screw waiting. If I miss out on something big at least I had a new toy for a few months.

Wish I could get Titan XP, but I just can't with a clear conscious haha. I'll live vicariously through you guys :D

For all you single and sli, "X"'s and 1080 owners. Has a study been done on CPU bottlenecking?

The new Titan X cards are really fast. The score against the older Titan X cards was boosted by the 6950X. The score from the original Titan X was with the 5960X.

I've used the voltage adjustments through MSI Afterburner on previous cards. It does allow the GPU to clock up a few speed bins higher. Nothing extraordinary. I'm not one to BIOS mod for crazy voltages.

AdamK47: Are you using a single Philips 4k monitor per your specs?
Your fps on games must be crazy high!

For those that have installed the Hybrid cooler, I assume the backplate has to be removed to secure the mounting plate for the CLC?

Just a question: IS there only a 12GB Titan X? Because I remember it was broadcasted that there will be a 12GB/16GB Titan X?

The current Titan X(P) is GP102, the GP100 16GB HBM2 card is still MIA but I really hope it does launch by years end.

It's possible there won't be a HBM Geforce Pascal too since rumors are Nvidia could be ready to launch the Volta next year

Titan X(P) vs 1080Ti in terms of performance will be the same or close or 25% difference?

If the 1080ti is like the 980ti then very close, and especially so out of the box because of the considerably better default coolers the 1080ti will have.

It definitely won't be 25% difference as that would be very close to the 1080.
