As usual digital river is a train wreck that doesnt fulfill orders in the order they are received not to mention their overseas call center doesnt know a thing and keeps transferring you back to the menu queue claiming they dont handle customer service for nvidia orders lmao. I remember this from previous Titan launches. Paid next day shipping on the original Titan Xand it took 3 days to get it out the door. Alot of people who ordered yesterday at 8 ama are still in processing status whereas people who ordered today already have their cards shipped. Anyway its no surprise with this cash grab by nvidia that they skipped professional distributors and went with the lowest common denominator.

So much for "premium." Other manufacturers of luxury goods have figured out you need every step of the process to cater to the high end customer if you want to gain their satisfaction. Look at Tesla and their nationwide roll out of high-end charging stations with sitting rooms, coffee and wifi in them etc.

It seems extraordinarily foolish to pick a slow and shoddy distributor when people are paying up to $1300 to get the best of the best as early as possible. Hell they charged people $100 for the Founders Edition to jump on the train a few weeks early. How can they not see that each day is valuable to their buyers and take that conclusion into their distribution channel?

getting one of these is extremely tempting, but I'll probably end up holding off for 1080ti's and buying 2

Mine hasn't shipped yet, sad day. Looks like Adam was right to go with the lowly 2 day shipping afterall :sneaky:

GREAT! Keep us posted as we drool with envy!:D:)

:)

Now running it at +175 core/+350 in MSI Afterburner. Seems to be working fine, but I'll test more games to be sure. Power limit to 120, fan speed set to auto.

Every product ever released for sale by a for-profit entity is a "cash grab."

Sure but my use of that term is directed at Nvidia's use of shoddy distributor Digital River. I actually called the nvidia store earlier and they told me my order was "delayed due to high demand" which means its out of stock. At the same time the item page shows its going in and out of stock (meaning they are still taking new orders). Plus I literally ordered 10mins after it went into stock yesterday, yet my order is in backordered status while people who ordered today already got shipping comfirmations. My point is a company that cant fulfill orders in the order they receive them is just unprofessional and obviously Nvidia chose the lowest common denominator to maximize profit over all else which is why they froze out all their AIB partners for few extra bucks.

I'll be first to rip apart my cooler to throw a hybrid on there...now taking pledges to offset the cost of possibly making it a paper weight :D

Interesting indeed!

Do you see similar results for Fire Strike? (I'm curious whether DX11 vs DX12 makes a difference there)

I've only installed the beta low latency drivers which don't let firestrike finish. I get a "cancelled by user" message before it loads the fourth test. Waiting for newer drivers. The titanX release drivers aren't compatible with the 1080.

It was doing 1911 in Heaven bone stock. I took it to about 2062 and it scored 3954 in Heaven. I'm sure I have a little more room. 4000 score is a given.

Ok I managed 3988 at 2100MHz. It ran very smooth and stable but any higher and I'm having lockups of Heaven. I may have a little more room but I'll test that after I put the hybrid cooler on it and possibly BIOS mod it.

I'm pretty thrilled with 2100MHz.

Not wanting to be a buzzkill, but that's about 3.2% higher than the 3865 I just got.

I expect it's purely down to resolution in this case, the biggest gains between TitanX and 1080 are made at UHD and above.

I see. You got 3865 with a 1080? Something isn't right then.

I honestly wouldn't worry about 1080p (or less) performance similarities, check out the Hexus Titan X review and remember I'm clocked higher than their 1080.

(I also have 240W to play with)

I see. Yeah it pretty much runs at 150fps so I'm probably CPU limited at that point. I always run DSR 4K anyway. How do you get 240w? BIOS mod?

The GS and GLH gainward cards are rated at 200W, and the overclock settings give me an extra 20%.

Oh ok. I suppose I can get 250+ 20% that way. We both still need BIOS mods to max out these cards.

Does it allow you to go up to 20%? My 250w 780 only allowed for 10% (275W)

TBH when Gaming, this card isn't often limited by power. Although it might end up being if I can get the voltage above 1v.
