Ok my guess is this will be SLI multithreading support for Dual-Core processors. i.e. each core will be affinity masked to a single GPU; So the power of three will be the

1 x Dual Core CPU
2 x GPU in SLI

Well it is not the fact that there isn't 3 slots. Somone could make that if they so desire. However, the Northbridge simply does not support enough PCI-E lanes. IIRC it supports 25. So you have your x16, and your x8, and your x1.

Good god, i spoke too soon. It looks like 1 of the power of 3 (Perhaps) was just released guys. 38 PCI-E lanes. Good god.

Keep in mind that Ronin was the one who was shocked at the Inq stories saying that the 7800GTX gets around 7700 3dmarks and said that it would be much faster than that. I'd take anything you read with a grain of salt, except for the stuff that I say.

Keep in mind that Ronin was the one who was shocked at the Inq stories saying that the 7800GTX gets around 7700 3dmarks and said that it would be much faster than that. I'd take anything you read with a grain of salt, except for the stuff that I say.

They've got no reason (save the 7800GT), to announce new products atm (at least above and beyond what's already available). ATi hasn't countered (yet), and it's in nVidia's best interest to not do so until there is a need.

So the power of three is SM3, SLI, and HDR? Why didnt they try this PR tactic earlier? ATi is about to have all three, hopefully soon. If thats all it is, it doesnt make sense to try this, just before ATi has all three of these things.

(yes I know ATi doesnt have "SLI" its just easier to say)
