Yeah, Ronin is right. However i have heard that even though Power Of 3 has nothing to do with graphics card launches it just so happens that they are launching the GT that day. BUt as he said, it isn't part of the power of 3.

Well... ill be up until midnight tonight anyways so, i might as well check out what it is then.

(Btw: Ronin, i do trust you, but i think some new cards might be released as well)

The 7800GT launch has nothing to do with the Power of 3, no matter how many people try to lump it together. They are not one and the same.

Stop lying to anandtech and tell us the truth.

Guess you'll find out tomorrow, won't you?

ROFL That nvidia banner dashed all my expectations of a link to a page showing the new videocards or something.

That was quite uneventful! :p

Yeah, from that page above, it looks like it's just SM, HDR and SLI.... Such a nice marketing gimmic.

that doesnt sound good.

So its just "ha, we're better because we have HDR, SM3, and sli!"?

isn't HDR on sm2 as well? isn't crossfire coming out soon...ok, they dont have sm3...

So this is great...yeah...so its just "get a card with SM3 because its not old?"

I'm a fan of SM3...but this is an uber disappointment IF this is true.

And that whole "vote for your favorite nvidia woman thingy" (in the original Po3 post)...yeah...did we get screwed over? so what was the timer for then...
GAH this is confusing.

Sorry for making a new thread. I thought it'd be nice to not be on the 10th page when i put up that link which kinda confirms no new cards...i haven't seen the link before, but i haven't looked, so flame me if its been posted, please. :D

its great how the author says "i have been told...", by whom exactly? maybe nvidia will update their site on August 11th, Pacific Time? Just reaching... and hoping for something better than hdr, sm3, and sli as the power of three

i guess its safe to say its not three pci express X16 ability. you could do it but you would just be dividing the bus even further and you would get little to no improvement from the 3rd card.
