If only there would be a wait list or something for people who would absolutely take doses. I mean text me and I’ll be there in 5 minutes if someone doesn’t want theirs.
Yep - I want to see the data published, but assuming there are no show-stopping adverse events, I'll be first in line.

Welp my parents have it.
Best wishes for them.

Has any official agency outlined official procedures for deploying this to everyone? Yeah, i've seem news outlets say front line workers 1st, those most at-risk 2nd and so on. And who would be the agency to outline this officially? CDC, NIH, someone else?
So how do we go about deciding who is at most/least risk? How is it decided when i'm allowed to get the vaccine? Our own personal doctor i guess? Does each doctor submit a list... this patient needs to get one ASAP, this patient can wait, & so on? Or do we do this on the honor system?
And like @K1052 said, what if a bunch of people in front of me don't want to get the vaccine right away. I know polls can suck but the last i saw it was only a little over 50% said they would get the vaccine, at least right away.

Ignore the dubious official numbers; they've taken this shit very seriously since late January.

Not to say that non-authoritarian countries can do what they do, nor should we want to. But there are other success stories such as Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand and AU.

So no, your level of skepticism isn't warranted.
In recent months, this has happened multiple times in China. When they realize that too much has already been seen on Chinese social media before it could be suppressed, they put on a show by locking down and testing millions of people within a few days - always reporting "0 cases found." It strains credulity because the Chinese test they are using is rejected by many other countries because it is notoriously inaccurate and produces a high number of false-positive results. Even if there were 0 actual infections, there should have been thousands of false-positive results based on the scale of the mass testing events.

Thought some here might find this interesting- from the FDA on remdesivir and implications of the SOLIDARITY trial run by WHO: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/news-even...icacy?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery

They describe why they approved remdesivir, and how they view the SOLIDARITY trial:

FDA is aware of the preprint describing the results of the SOLIDARITY trial, a World Health Organization-sponsored, open-label, randomized trial comparing different investigational interventions plus standard-of-care to standard-of-care alone in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. One of the drugs studied in SOLIDARITY was Veklury. The SOLIDARITY trial’s primary goal was to assess for effects of treatment interventions on in-hospital mortality. Like the ACTT-1 trial discussed above, the SOLIDARITY trial did not find a statistically significant difference in mortality between the Veklury arm and the standard-of-care arm.

While both the SOLIDARITY trial and the ACTT-1 trial contribute to our understanding of interventions to help treat COVID-19, the two clinical trials had different trial designs and primary goals. The design of ACTT-1 (i.e., randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded) was better suited to rigorously assess a time to recovery endpoint compared to a trial with an open-label design, such as the SOLIDARITY trial. Based on the findings of the ACTT-1 trial, benefit to patients for Veklury was demonstrated including a shorter time to recovery and better odds of clinical improvement. The SOLIDARITY results do not refute these findings of benefit to patients.

Looks like us Canadian's are going to have to wait for a vaccine since we got zero production capacity.

The morons in charge have had the entire year to figure this shit out, and their basically saying were out of luck and got to wait on the USA to ramp up production.

None of this is unusual for vaccination. The second dose of the HPV vaccine made my arm feel like it was going to fall off for a while. It passes and everything is fine.
Truedat. I got my booster that had all sorts of vaccs in it a couple years back for my daughter that was born prematurely.

My focking shoulder felt bruised for about a week.

B-b-b-but were supposed to idolize your healthcare....

Yeah it's ridiculous how we just outsource everything. Something as critical as vaccines should be capable of being done in house. At least we make our own toilet paper, so we got that going for us lol.

I don’t think there are a ton of places that can make mRNA vaccine at scale outside the US and Belgium/Germany. It is a pretty new platform.

Which masks are good to fight the virus?

On the bright side, you won’t need to wait for vaccine availability to get your immunity.

Would have preferred not to do it the hard way. It's kind of crazy after being careful but I could have just run into the wrong person at the wrong time even in a relatively safe setting.

Welp I am SARS-CoV-2 positive by PCR test.

Asymptomatic so far.
🙁.

The good thing is you're asymptomatic. Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones with no symptoms. Just be careful you don't spread it to your loved ones.

Considering the vaccine side effects are like getting the virus, you might be lucky and better off than the rest of us.
