So talking about unemployment benefits... this article explains different ways it can still apply to you even if you don't qualify for regular unemployment. https://www.americanactionforum.org...s-aid-relief-and-economic-security-cares-act/
My wife left her job purposely at the end of '18 and hasn't worked since - she never applied for unemployment since it was her own decision to leave. According to the 2nd & 3rd bullet points, she can apply for PUA (pandemic unemployment assistance). I went to the NYS labor site and it says that in order to qualify for PUA, we have to be denied for UI (regular unemployment insurance), so we applied for UI first and have to await a decision via US Mail. I'm guessing we'll be allowed to apply for PUA thereafter. Since the benefits only go up to a certain date, this is time-sensitive. Supposedly for regular UI, it is retroactive and people are supposedly getting their money from when they stopped working. Is this true for PUA too - we can get benefits from when it was enacted until the end date regardless of when we officially get onboarded?

This dude has been living in Japan for two years yet even he qualifies.
I REALLY think that antibody testing will be a big key to getting our economy back in order... Is just getting people who are immune to start going outside and doing stuff again.
I traveled for work with family to Orlando, FL (basically an epicenter of TONS of foreigners going to Disney, etc.) in mid-February and after getting back home my baby, toddler, and wife all came down with a respiratory related illness. I never showed any symptoms. Regardless, it's definitely possible that they have antibodies.
I think antibody test is going to be requirement for getting things like travel visa going forward. It's going to be very interesting as countries implement this. I think after one major country announce the requirement for travel, all major countries will quickly follow. I'm dying to travel again. I want to go to Asia so bad.
Trump temporarily halting funding to WHO over its handling of Coronavirus.
Good riddance. Fuck WHO. Fuck anything that can't even acknowledge Taiwan.
It will be positive reform if USA pulling funding causes Tedros Adhanom to have to step down as WHO director general. Sometimes you need to use strong arm to create positive change. It's really hard to demand reform if you've already left the table.
It is highly unlikely that this opening will do anything but strengthen China's influence with the WHO.

China already own Tedros. Just as we all know Trump is crooked and dishonest as human being can get, we know the same about Tedros. Hopefully USA pulling funding will cause the ouster of Tedros like Trump fucking the US and the world for the past 4 years will come to end this November when the US voters kick him out. Both have low probability of happening but at least it gives us some hope positive change can come from this. That's an enormous "if" should the Chinese decide to simply step into the gap we've created. Trump's history of pulling out of stuff insisting he can get a better deal and then not getting one is extremely consistent.
We were planning on going to Aruba in May, back in February. I'm glad we never booked any flights, hotels, or car rentals for the trip cause that definitely ain't happening lol. The timing of my St. Thomas trip was lucky as hell too. Had it been a week later, we probably would have canceled. Everything started getting real serious while we were there.I think antibody test is going to be requirement for getting things like travel visa going forward. I would've likely gone to Aruba for my daughter's Spring Break last week if not for the Covid-19 virus. I took unpaid sabbatical from work end of last year so I have all the time in the world to travel now. Yet I can't because of this current virus mess. My wife and I are so anxious to travel again. Still nothing on my end.

Filed taxes last or this year and had a refund direct deposited. Otherwise, I guess you get a check mailed to you. Income stipulations if they apply. What conditions need to be in place for the direct deposit to happen?
