I noticed that CNN is stating that the death tolls are likely going to be lower than projected. That's a good thing, although I'm not buying their premise that "Social Distancing" saved the day. I highly doubt that, because there still a LOT of people who aren't taking the stay at home orders seriously and are still going outside to socialize with their neighbors.

Personally, I think that the virus just wasn't quite as deadly as they thought it was. The actual number of infected is probably still higher than they think it is because of a lack of testing, but there are a lot of people out there who have the virus who have little or no symptoms.

Still people walking right into a walmart shoulder to shoulder with their kids, no such thing as social distancing. Not with these fucking idiots dragging their kids into walmart. Got 252 cases in this county yet people STILL do not give any shit. SO glad i don't need to walk into that clusterfuck for a month then when i do i got a fresh new in pack KN95 but i would be hard pressed to find ANYTHING else but that fucking store to buy my food right now.

They had lines outside a few days ago and i guess someone heard me going off about how the lines aren't doing jack shit if people still are almost fucking each other in the line. Lots of foreigners here and maybe lots of them not understanding what is mainly english posted signs? Got to be living under a rock if your walking into a wally world with family in tow not aware of the current situation or just plain stupid.

Edit: takes one person to shop, not needing half your entire god damn family in the store as well.

I drove by a Home Depot today and saw the same thing. The parking lot was packed.

I wouldn't go in there for free money.

I have accepted the fact that tons of people really suck at the worlds biggest game of" Simon Says". I heard about the church in LA and well i almost hoped one of those people would get it. Gonna make that big of a decision cause of your faith? FUCK i hope god has a extra respirator when one of those people catch it cause i hope no one with a pea sized brain gives someone that wreckless one . To few going around as is.

Wow... in Connecticut, they actually had to institute a "one shopper only" policy to keep people from doing that. No idea if it's actually working, though.

Another store i saw the same day wal-mart was doing the line thing was doing 2 people at a time but we had people all mostly not wearing masks about on top of each other including kids wrapped around the side of the building. If i had to guess a easy 100 people? Was more comical i had to see how things got handled and well i was not surprised at my suspicions.

Why wal-mart stopped the line thing now i got no idea, i know wal-mart had like 3 people outside i guess regulating the traffic into the store.

Home Depot near me is only letting a certain amount of people in at a time, and making people wait outside in line 6 feet apart.

Where in the hell is this place, it sounds like a nice place. I promise not to bring my shit, just a few friends with actual brain function and a higher then avg IQ if recent judgement of the general population is anything to go by.

Rockville, MD. Two out of the three times I have gone there and seen this I just left because the line was too long. The one time I went was at like 8am and there were like 8 people in line and it went really quick. The other 2 times, the lines were longer than I could even see because it was blocked in the distance by the outdoor section.

This was the liquor store on Saturday when I went. I was like the 10th person in line here probably. When I got in there was probably like 6 other people so they were letting around 7 people in at a time.

I'll be honest, since I'm stuck at home I want to try and get shit done at home. That means buying some parts and stuff at places like Home Depot. I don't mind taking a microscopic risk of ordering online and picking up some parts in-store.

They're doing this at my HD too. Drove by there last Friday to grab a few things but the line was actually kinda long. I skipped it, will probably try and go back this week sometime.

I wish we could handle things like that here, no kids i hope at the stores? Wal-Mart so big and packed they honestly could police people here and enforce 6 feet/keep kids away orders.

Not like kids like going to your church or to a grocery store,i almost consider it torture to bring them to places they obviously don't want to be. Someone better cook up a whopper of a story on why you insisted on the kid coming as well in tow. I consider it child endangerment as of now when i see it.

Could be, but IMO it's still too early to tell. Let's give it another 1-2 weeks. We will have a better idea then.

Fuck that. Order it online and have them deliver it to my front porch.

Some experts thinking intermittent physical distancing might be a thing for a while.

(Article is below video, which is a separate topic)

I wasn't happy with my choice of words there, TBH... I struggled with it and just left it as that. Didn't want to say 3rd world, which is something else entirely. I was trying to convey the idea that we are negligent, that we have "dropped the ball," that we've failed to not just take the lead but to keep up with the pace of other advanced nations on this planet by failing to guarantee adequate health care for its citizens. I hope that is clear.

I understand the US is not perfect by any mean and it has a lot of problems and issues. No argument here.

If the US is so bad, why so many of the stinking rich folks around the world are willing to put up good money (from $900K USD to $1.8M USD minimum) to have EB-5 visas and move to the US?

Guess which country has the largest number? Commie china with 45.70% of the visas available. The second country is not even close, India with 8%.

I haven't seen kids at these places.

You should have seen Microcenter when I went there this past Saturday too. They had a little tent setup out front and the guy out there was basically screening people to ask them what they are there for. I placed an order for a printer so we could print out preschool worksheets for my son to do, so I told him I was there for that, but also wanted to pickup some AAA batteries too. He told me they had to spray both sides of my hands before I go in, and then I basically had an escort that showed me to the batteries, waited for me to pick em out, then walked me to the order pickup area.

When I left, there was a line of 2 people so they also are only letting in X amount of people at a time.

They've been doing that at lot of places here too where they only let so many people in. Most places are running on reduced hours as well.

Some countries count every death where covina is present as a covina death even though there are underlying complications. Some don't.
This is not surprising. You see the same thing happen all the time across different clinical trials. Each trial uses its own definitions for endpoints; it's one of the prime reasons you can't directly compare different clinical trials (the other main reason being different study populations).

Assessing every COVID-19+ patient death as a COVID-19 death seems like a fair way to assess deaths - the underlying complications may not have been enough to push someone into the grave, but the added stress of an infection could have been the proverbial straw. Plus, it has the substantial benefit of removing the subjective assessment that would come into play if you had to decide which COVID-19-positive patients should be counted towards the official total and which shouldn't.

Social distance does not apply to members of the same household unless one is showing symptoms or has tested positive.

With an avatar such as your I can understand why.

That's what every (still open) shop is doing here. Every single one in the country, I think. Is that not the case everywhere? It makes food shopping quite time-consuming, but it seems it's what has to be done. Very hard to get home deliveries, unless you are in a proven 'vulnerable group'.
