I actually just got done doing a Skype interview with my local news station, think it's airing tonight. I reached out to them today asking if they could help clarify what 'non essential travel' means for somebody in my situation and one of their news guys wanted to interview me.
I never knew being a male masseuse involved travel......

you are aware that many people who have contracted the virus and then later have been declared virus free have come down with the virus again? It would seem the old tried and true once you get something you develop an immunity is not true with this virus....scary huh?

right off the bat here :

"Then there’s the February 14 article from Caixin, a Beijing, China-based media group, that was entitled “14% of Recovered Covid-19 Patients in Guangdong Tested Positive Again. "

14% suggests they hadnt beaten it to begin with. So testing. Still though. The very concept of a rebound. hmmm.

With as little accurate information being published and with a plethora of inaccurate information....it is very possible that there is no immunity built up when you contract this virus......

On another note - DIY masks for anyone: https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/best-materials-make-diy-face-mask-virus/. One thing I hope they add to testing is some sort of "moist filter". Water particles being present should help filter out more particles.

My coworker has a Korean friend who said her mom is making masks out of Tampons. I guess this might be a thing in S. Korea, IDK. I'm not sure how or what that looks like, whether it be taken apart and re-purposed or just slapped onto your face. She said she'd send me pics when the mom sends her friend some. Curious how effective that would be compared to what was tested in the link.

World is going to change forever once we get through this. Huge social unrest is coming.

I've heard this a lot... were going to stay further apart... work remotely more.... put more space between airline seats... LOL JK.

Yeah honestly, Iv'e heard that "things are going to change in our society" after this. I'm willing to place a wager that it won't.

Those statements are probably more about reversing globalism, increasing self-sufficiency, and maintaining border control than those other things you listed.

There's going to be riots. Capitalism as you know it will be dead. Socialism will take its place. US people will demand it. We're going to get universal healthcare and become like Europe. People will riot to get it.

LOL!

If anything, it would be the exact opposite of all that.

Exact.

Opposite.

(except maybe the riots)

Heat doesn't appear to help either, so we may not get any relief in the warmer months:

Huh? The article implies exactly opposite that. Tropical countries seeing slower spread. Possibly just because people are out more getting more sun and generating more Vitamin D, so take those supplements.

All of the border closings from many countries are screwing up the tourists/visitors from other countries. So many are desperately scramming to get home before too late. Dammmmmm...

I was at an auto shop today and a trucker there was complaining that with the restaurant restrictions it's hard for long haul truckers to find a restroom and a place to eat.

I am putting my hopes on this one. Think about the alternative for a moment. The alternative is that *this* is the new normal. Fuck that. Or at least until a vaccine is developed. Yall good with a lockdown for 18 months?

Gonna be an eye-opener to see what the pew polls show for voter blocs come November. I'm personally banking on a drop of ~10% R's, by death or by policy.

There's been some posts in my FB feed saying that if you see a trucker trying to get a meal, maybe offer to go through the drive through for them to help them out. They're kinda screwed with current dine-in policies and obviously don't fit in the drive-thru. Right now and in the near future, they'll probably some of the most important people to help keep supply chains going.

I mentioned to my wife last night that there's another thing people aren't really talking about. Prior to all this, we were going thru a vaping epidemic involving some of our youngest demographics. I can't recall if we knew exactly what vaping was doing to their lungs, but with this covid business, who knows how it'll affect teens?
