Dude, do you even Christian?Anyone tracking the coronavirus updates that Bing has displayed, showing total cases/deaths/recoveries?
Yesterday it showed 93 US deaths, but today it's down to 85. I've been tracking it daily and that makes no sense, unless the WHO/CDC/whatever other agency decided causes of death were not attributable to C19.

Anyone who suggests performing medical experiments on unwilling persons is an asshole. End of story. It’s not complicated. Evil too.
but i STILL WONDER CAN YOU GET IT FROM INFECTED FOOD..
The measures the various countries take TODAY will begin to show their effects after the incubation period is over. That incubation period is THOUGHT to be 14 days. The peak of the crisis in the US is when Florida blows up. With all the old people in Florida, it's going get extremely ugly down there. As sick as it sounds, that's going to be our Italy moment. And that's when I think the stock market will bottom.
Per a letter in Lancet, we may want to look at deaths per cases from 14 days prior instead of total deaths/total cases, since new infections will take time to increase in severity: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(20)30195-X/fulltextNoticed the Cayman Islands had 1 case with 1 death.

So, some dude hands you your drink at the drive through window and there's zero chance that he contaminated the straw wrapper or cup that you just touched too. Tear that straw open and jam it in! Lick your hands while you're at it.It's an excellent opportunity to get inmates to volunteer for a sentence reduction or a trip to a halfway house . . . or something. But forcing it on them? Yeah, that's not a good idea at all.
Pretty much no. You don't get the cold or influenza from eating food that has been prepared normally during flu season. Believe it or not, proper hygiene is a major part of most food preparation. Restaurants that can't maintain proper hygiene are often caught and fined for spreading much more common foodborne illnesses. You would have to find someone literally drooling all over your food after preparation, which is not likely to happen. Then the majority of the virus would wind up in your gastrointestinal system which is not a major site for infection. It might get your throat on the way down or it might not.
That is very low risk situation.

Yep, infinitely more likely to get a viral infection walking into/out of a restaurant than from the food itself. It's an excellent opportunity to get inmates to volunteer for a sentence reduction or a trip to a halfway house . . . or something. cash for clunkers: put more EV and hybrid on the road that otherwise would have existed. When global oil prices plummeted--a cartel-owned pricing thing that no democratic government anywhere can control--stupid americans went on buying more stupid, pointless, SUVs that not one single american needs. There is no policy that can fix inbred stupidity like that, and I'm sure you realize that.
They forgot to communicate the "worrying" part. None of them were sick. None of them were talking about lost loved ones. None of them seemed to be in a particularly worse situation than they were telling their past selves to avoid. All of them just seemed to be telling themselves to do what they are already doing (staying home) while quirky music played.Italians have a message for the rest of the world. We are about 1 week behind Italy. If this message doesn't worry you and to get you to stay HOME, I don't know what will.

Most places have gone drive-thru/delivery only. The people at the drive thru are handling people's money, credit/gift cards... and worse. Heck, just this weekend my brother used a coupon from the McDonald's app and the window worker took his $1,450+ phone inside to scan the code instead of just remembering the four-character code to punch in at the counter.
Yeah, if these people are handling everyone's money, cards, phones, etc then there is God-knows what on your cup, wrapper, bag, etc. Somehow I don't take comfort in how the food itself is prepared either.

No comfort to be found in any of this. If you have to interact with them to get the food it's a distinction without much of a difference. You have to handle the containers and bags and wrappers to consume them and it doesn't even matter if you wash your hands again first. The handling of non-food items is a much greater concern than the food itself. And yes, the cashiers are a major potential point of infection. That being said, all that one cashier has to do is wash hands or disinfect between clients, or use gloves. Some of them I've noticed are starting to use gloves.
Pretty much. It's the non-food surfaces that should worry people. Door handles, keypads, etc.
lulz it was a joke saying im disabled. my disability is the fact i have to shop on my lunch break.. i guess i should have been more clear. It says "elderly and disabled", so if you're disabled, you should be included?
It's in Australia anyway, they may not be as sue-happy.
no, that's not at all what this is. It's "time rationing" for specific populations at a time, which is exactly what we should be doing.
What I've heard from my family living in SF is that stores clean and sterilize, then open only for the elderly and most susceptible, then the younger crowds can come in, limited numbers at a time.
weird how you would interpret what you did from what this is.
You keep linking Osterholm videos. Get some breadth. Osterholm has a stake in this he's published books. Find some experts who have nothing material to gain by making themselves famous. This is a Coronavirus winter, and this is the first week. America is not prepared.
I thought that this comment is so key. If this is with us for the foreseable future, stockpiling food and toilet paper isn't going to matter much. Eventually, you will run out. Trump has even said that this could potentially last into Aug. There is so much that we don't know. My question is are you prepared for this to last 6 months or longer? You have to wonder what would the US response be if this is with us for a long time. Do we just give up, resume our way of life and let the cards fall where they may? Like the flu, eventually our body will develop natural anitbodies to this virus. We could potentially see some horrible things in that time. Or, do we still fight this virus. A 1 month hiatus from activity is one thing. 3 months? 6 months? Longer? That's a scary thought.
