if we could just get completely sealed full-body suits, everything could continue as normal

honestly i think those suits will be the future in 100-200 years. everyone in society rich enough to buy one will wear one when they are out in public at all times.

especially if the suits can be made strong enough to withstand some damage from weapons

Yup i love this idea and i see it being a reality, the rich stay safe while the poor may have to put up with whatever the world has to offer. Reminds me of "The Island" . Watch it, a VERY good movie.

Edit: lots of science fiction has become fact, people would throw you in padded room in 1968 if you told them you had a wireless communicator that can contact people from a long distance. Now you get those for free on every corner out here.

Sadly the suits will be necessary due to climate change and pollution. Air outside will be mostly CO2 and toxic gases and there will be no nature or anything outside. Cities will basically be all interconnected buildings that are airtight with O2 generators and only authorized people will be allowed through the airlock with proper PPE. I could see China be the first to start building these types of cities until they become necessary everywhere else too.

Sad story, but, that is quite a good run.

The world's oldest man is still hanging on in there, but had to spend his 112th birthday party socially isolating. (He looks pretty good for 112 - I note he's got more hair than many guys half his age)

Found some P95 masks in my garage from my fiberglass project. They apparently have the added benefit of soaking up the resin fumes so you get a buzz when wearing them, not going to wear them yet and may not be able to anyway. I will keep them in reserve for when the alcohol runs out.

I've been cutting my own hair for 15 years with a Wahl kit I got off ebay. Bought another Wahl kit around 2 months ago, didn't use it for my last haircut because I was going to a big family function and didn't want to chance looking ridiculous having used my new kit for the first time... so I used the old one. Tomorrow I figure to use the new one... nobody's laid eyes on me for 8 days or so. :)

I may start shaving my head more often. When I went to Walmart that evening I noticed more and more people are shaving their heads too. Now that we have no choice in North Texas, its survival mode time...that or have super bushy hair...and hot muggy temps are around the corner. In the end its better to be shaved.

I was growing a beard and some long ass hair and i ultimately decided to shave it all. Not a skinhead or anything but i like it short in the warmer months longer in the cold.

I won't be touching my long hair any time soon, but I did trim down my beard the other day. Washing it and my hair more often too.

Can you use hand sanitizer as hair gel? :tearsofjoy: I bet that would dry up the scalp pretty badly lol.

These NYU students want tuition reimbursement. Their dean said no refunds, offering a dance video of herself instead:

Should have sung Imagine instead I guess? :D

(Seriously wtf was she thinking)

I'm looking for some $ back. IF they use it for their hourly employees then I'm good with that. If it's to keep paying $300k to the dean, eff that.

lol fuck universities.

Even an ounce of research will show you that the costs dedicated to actually paying professors has remained relatively stagnant. What has skyrocketed is bullshit "administrative" positions over the last 30 years.

Naturally, it's the bureaucracy that ensues when you guarantee anyone with a pulse a right to go to college. Limited supply (seats in the classroom), artificially created demand (student loans for anyone regardless of how dumb).

I honestly hope there is some justice for kids in college getting their money back.

Colleges have been expanding campus grounds, building and rebuilding dorms/ centers / stadiums /etc and spending mega bucks on their football programs to stay competitive.

Those things dont pay for themselves. Sure you have endowments and alumni associations but then you have to charge big bucks to pay salaries, upkeep and do it at a profit for the future...so you can see your money has already been spent.

And that $1200 check some will get from the government also did not grow on a tree somewhere. It was borrowed from the future to supposedly be repaid by the same taxpayers who got it.

Nothing is free.
