Sounds like they are getting hammered by their constituents. Good.

Congress will be thinking about 2010 election when they get back from their summer break. Perhaps the Healthcare bill is truly dead.

If they are thinking election, they should think about what happened to them when they failed to get health care reform done in 93.

This is the best news I've heard regarding UHC since it's become a headline topic. Maybe, just maybe, they'll take the time to craft logical legislation rather than just passing something in the name of passing something as many in here would like to see. IT IS ABSOLUTELY STUPID to pass legislation without actually planning it out and at least giving a cursory glance towards the possible ramifications of it upon our society. Oh, happy day.

It really is 1993 all over again. The ads against healthcare reform are eerily similar...

Thank fucking gawd.
Well thought out, limited, reasonable, specific, cost-effective healthcare reform FTW!

Should something so damn important be unable to hold itself up for a month while they BBQ, though?Damn, I was hoping they'd finally be able to get something done this time around. Honestly, I think that waiting until after the break will just give a better chance for those who either want to kill the bill or those who are good intentioned but ignorant to amend the bill and make it even more convoluted than it already is.

I'm for HC Reform but I feel that it needs more work, hopefully they can comprimise and find a way to appeal to the Moderates. As for the Wingnut Republicans, fuck them, it seems they have nothing to offer.
