Broncos never should have brought in Vance Joseph once (as head coach), let alone twice (as DC). He seems to have turned a perfectly good defense to crap.
They never should have bought into the Russell Wilson hype either. His last couple of years in Seattle were a sign that he wasn't the same as he was during his rookie years. He lost his hunger and drive.

The latter Seahawks also didn't have the Legion of Boom...

On SNF, Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels goes for it on 4th and 5 at PIT 22, down 7-23 with 13 minutes remaining. Although that's fine given the two score deficit, I also thought there was enough time left on the clock to just cut the lead to 13. I'm guessing the computer models would say to go for it.

Down 15-23 with under 3 minutes left, McDaniels twice decides to kick the FG and trust his defense could stop PIT yet again. (The first time, a ticky tack Leverage penalty gave the Raiders first down). The second time was a very manageable 4th and 4 with just 2:13 left on the clock.

Of course the Raiders go on to lose by 5. :tearsofjoy: There is no logic to being more aggressive with 13 minutes remaining, and being cautious with barely 2 minutes to play.

No worries Denver fans...your opening up as road favorites....ouch Bears

Bears fans are just beside themselves at how bad the team has been

Glad they won, but how the HELL was that roughing the passer against Fitzpatrrick? Its Football, not flag/touch.

My suicide league started with 92 players...we skipped week 1 (so we have only had to pick games for weeks 2 and 3)...after the cowboys loss yesterday, the league is down to 46 players (cowboy game knocked out 30 people)...I pick JAX yesterday so I am out.

I'm not sure what the rulebook says (the on-air analyst didn't like the call), but I'm fine with the call. Fitzpatrick led with his helmet, and yes there was some contact to Garappolo's helmet. These can be dangerous hits (even when legal), and it seemed like Garappolo got his bell rung.

I'm not familiar with the Leverage penalty on the FG attempt, but I thought it was silly they flagged the D-lineman for jumping. Did he actually push off against a blocker to gain "leverage?" I didn't see much there at all.

Basically any time another helm touches a QB helmet, let alone in the face mask, they are going to call it. So I'm fine with it.
I felt the flag on the FG was way more questionable, I know they basically aren't supposed to touch the long snapper, but I think he had a hand on his back, but it was barely there.

Have all the Monday night games been on broadcast TV (ABC) so far this year? I hope this isn't just because of the writers strike and they have nothing else to put on. Haven't paid for cable in years.

It is indeed due to the writer strike. ABC recently announced that it would pick up nearly all of the remaining games a while ago, so I don't think the strike resolution will have any impact.

Disney, ne ABC now owns Fox Sports, so it was a bit of a delay in my brain to square why Aikmen and Buck were doing the Monday night games so far, but there it is.

They might rotate in some delayed content sooner than imagined, though, so maybe not consistent for the rest of the year.

Due to a sad IRL event, I won't be able to watch the Bills-Dolphins game this weekend, but I just have one thing to say: squish the fish!

How much does a ticket to a game like that cost? Always amazes me to see so many fans of opposing teams in the stadium. I guess this was after the game was over so all the Lions fans came down to the end zone area to celebrate?

For nosebleed 9ers tickets, it was something like $189/ticket against the Bengals. Not even a big rivalry. For tickets against Dallas, it was something like $250 IIRC. I did the math and it would've costed my family of four something like $800-$900 when taking food and drinks into account. Slightly less if we were to take the BART in vs. parking. I stopped looking after that lol

you could hear Let's Go Lions chant's during the game a few times and GB fans where complaining about 'gold ticket?' holders that sold their tickets to Detroit fans yesterday

If I had $1,000 to spend on entertainment for my family, I would want it to last more than a few hours. $1k could get you a nice cabin or lake house rental + gas and food for a weekend here.

pro sports simply isn't worth attending unless your local MLB team is dogshit and you can regularly score $5 or less bleacher or outfield tickets during the week, regularly. At least with baseball, 70% of the experience is just checking out what is going on around you and having shitty overpriced beer delivered to your seats.

To me Hockey, and depending on where you are sitting--basketball--are the only sports worth attending, anyway. Football might be the worst, particularly because much of the season takes place during shitty weather.

Only masochists agree to light their money on fire for such a shitty experience.

Well, people do find a way to enjoy football at the stadium for whatever reason. I was going by University of Maryland and there was tailgating and the like going on. I wouldn't go because of how much I value my hearing, that FedEx is likely a mediocre place anyway, and it's too expensive.

oh god that's...right where I live. 😀

But yeah, the thing about football is usually the tailgating and, well, probably not remembering the game at all, if you ever make it into the game. UMD has a really good college stadium and it is a fun place to watch a game--I do like going to college games, but it's still a thing where you aren't going to be able to follow everything that's going on.

All of the previous being said, my main gripe with pro games, especially and maybe exclusively the NFL, is that I ain't paying those fucking billionaire owners and that org one red fucking cent to support their property that they already extracted my money to pay for. Fuck them.
