Pretty sure the Giants & Jets changed the turf this offseason from one of the worst in any stadium to one of the higher quality ones. Yet this happens in the first week. These teams gotta pony up and make grass work even in stadiums with lots of concerts. They gotta figure it out and spend the money. They just don't want to spend the money.

Calling it, Jets trade for Russell Wilson during the season (Donkos want to get rid of him so bad that they'll basically pay his contract to go somewhere else, Jets can release him depending on Rodgers who waffles about retiring or not but is also why they take a chance on Wilson). But, it gets crazier, it gets reveled that Denver try to lure Drew Brees out of retirement, which then gets Tom Brady to actually be lured out of retirement. Luck and Roofiesburger also were contacted.

That was my initial thought, but Bill Barnwell said Kaaron held the ball too long on the first near sack, and the final sack. Both plays were supposed to be quick slants after a cut block.

He thinks they still have a chance of riding the defense to a playoff spot.
Yeah , after re-watching it your right...either that or there was some horrendous miscommunication on 2 of those plays

Jets have the running backs and defense to make the play offs, they need to just limit what the QB can do. Throw JUST enough to keep defenses honest, like 20 or less attempts per game for them. Otherwise when they face a QB that doesn't give them 2-3 picks, if THEY give 2-3 picks they get behind and are toast.

I don't see how the Jets sign a star QB for anything more than 1 year given the financial obligation they have to Rodgers, unless Rodgers agrees to a trade, which he won't. The Jets would also need to clear a bunch of cap space for a 1-year QB deal.

IIRC Russell Wilson's contract is one of the absolute worst in the NFL. Even if you could magically make the cap math work, it would be career suicide to absorb that contract.

Carson Wentz would be a better option than trading for Russell Wilson. Wentz would absolutely be willing to take a 1 year flyer to try to resuscitate his career.

The smart play is to just play Zac Wilson to see if he can be the QB of the future. Barring a catastrophe with Zac Wilson of course.

Didn't watch the game but Jordan Love with his second 3 TD 0 INT game. Looks like he's playing pretty well?

Bingo.... hence my opinion that signing Rodgers in the first place was a foolish move.

Lions Sigh...good game but they came up short, where was the pass rush? 2 starting tackles where hurt and nothing all game long...lotta injuries after this one, Houston is out for 8 weeks, Monty's out for a bit as well

As a Niners fan, glad we got the win. However the pass rush was almost none existent for 90% of the game, the Rams O-line looked pro bowl material and I'm not sure why. Also Purdy was doing his best Jimmy G/Lance impressions with 3 passes that would have been touchdowns but he really over threw them.

Hawks fan here, that sure looked like a hold on the last TD. But it's the NFL and terrible calls usually balance out. I'm sure we'll be the victim of more than a few.

Ugghhh...I don't think I should have watched that.

That might be a wrap on Nick Chubb's NFL career. I just hope he can walk again. It's that bad.
Yeah. I hyper-extended my knee and blew out the ACL 20 years ago…was mild by comparison.

I feel bad for the guy. Relatively young, great RB. Hope was a saver and not a spender, especially with those lackluster RB contracts.
