Still, I'd probably hit it.
Not even Quebert would hit that.

I'm not so sure I'd call it "bullying" either. But the argument made in the e-mail is pretty specious. Women in the media tend to be rail thin, which sends a message to girls that they should be self-conscious if they don't look exactly like that, and can lead to eating disorders among other problems. I see no reason that every woman on the air must be skinny.
Also, does anyone seriously think that if she was male and overweight to the exact same degree that she would still have received that same e-mail? Of course not.
she just publicly made it seem like it's ok to be fat and it kinda isn't. it greatly affects the cost of healthcare in this country.
what she should have done was pick up the gauntlet and accept the challenge to lose weight, publicly, and invited everyone else who is in her shoes to do the same and make it a weekly challenge. the person who loses the most weight and has the best before and after pictures since the start of the contest wins a prize from the news station.
Good points. I don't think it's particularly bullying to tell a fat person they are fat, but it's certainly a grand sense of entitlement to presume you know best how another person should live her life assuming she is hurting no one else.I'm not so sure I'd call it "bullying" either. OMG. Bullying.
Cry me a river.
Americans can no longer stand the mirror placed in front of them.

People who feel it necessary to run around calling out fatties usually have something going on in their lives that they could just as easily be called out on too.

That is such bullshit. If that's true the same can be said of drugs, drinking, unprotected sex, smoking, etc., etc., etc. Pick a subject. The hate expressed by people on this forum towards those who are overweight is disgusting. Fuck all you haters.
