Honestly though my gf is being pretty reasonable. We can swing $8k and she get her what she wants... why not?

Also, my wife bought the blank invitations on eBay and then used her laser printer to print them. They looked professional and I think she paid a grand total of $5 or $10. Don't get suckered into paying big money for invitations. My wife's mom made the table centerpieces and decorations. Since it was around Xmas time, we got to keep them and use them as decorations every year.

Things cost money. I don't think $5K was bad for everything we got for it. Actually, now that I think about it, I think it was closer to $5600 because I did pay for the venue ($500 IIRC) and the cake ($80 IIRC). Sure, we could have done it cheaper but it wasn't worth our time or the hassle/headaches to save $1K or $2K.

we flew to Taiwan to do our glamour shots. We got post cards, prints, book marks, big ass album, smaller album for parents and it was cheaper than here. Yes, including return air fare...

I forgot about the photographer -- the $5K I mentioned above included that as well. Shop around, as prices vary wildly and I'm sure you know this, but I'll say it anyway for anyone else who might read -- make sure you own the pictures that they take. Some photographers will try to retain the rights and make you pay for copies.
